for $699. Im not looking for a super powerful machine. Wondering if this will play recent/upcoming games on medium-high(ish) settings.

Yes, It should definitely be able to handle any kind of game on high settings from what I can see. Not really a bad price either.

I wouldn't say any game nor high settings, medium yes, but the video card is lacking some games like i believe bf series and cod require like 2 gb for the video card. It is a decent deal though.

edit that is to run them on high settings thought id point that out.

Should run most modern games at medium settings.

I would say its not bad for the cost. It would run most games on medium settings.

for $699, if you dont want to build its ok.

run most games on mediumish at a decent res.

dont listen to the idiot saying games require 2gig vram, maybe at a high res with a demanding game, defs not cod lmao. COD4 @ 250FPS @ 1080p uses like 500-600mb for me, l0l.

nah, leave the CPU alone. few games will really heat that cpu up, save for maybe BF3 or AC3(both are somewhat CPU-heavy, but even a laptop I3 can handle those so a desktop I3 will own it)
I do agree though, for a little more money, I would step up to a 650 ti or 660 and you'll be much better off. Or step over to the other side, spend the same cash but with an AMD graphics card..and still come out on top. Price to performance ratio in mind, AMD consistently trumps Nvidia cards. Sure, Nvidia's HIGH-END cards are better(which is over your spending limits anyways)...but you're looking to get the best performance for your dollar right? this is just my .02 I do like Nvidia's cards better, but AMD's got a better "sales pitch" because their products are more sensible.

Pretty decent, could be better though if you want to play upcoming games as graphics etc will become better and more intensive.
