How rares are coming back

As of now, rare items are coming back but will not be limited time. They will always in the game, which I think is stupid..

Also as of now, they will only be obtained through community events..

I personally don't go to any community events, so I think that choice is rather stupid aswell..

This is to simply discuss the options and votes so far. Anyone agree with me?

 

I think that if the vote poll stays as it is then rares will RAPIDLY become pointless items within the game.

If they're not discontinued rares, they're not the same as everyone remembers.

People don't even understand the 20-question long poll by the looks of it. It is rather excessive.

 

Yea i don't think people really understand, we voted for rares to be rare or so I thought but by the looks of it they wont be discontinued so it doesn't make much since .

 

I concur with the above two posts, even I misunderstood the "avaliability" question. It is evident the vast majority want discontinued rares, but due to the polls' incompetence, we may not get it. Disappointing.

 

Obviously Jagex doesn't understand the meaning of the word 'Rare'.

 

Discontinued or not, it took years before even the rares given to a MUCH smaller community became incredibly valuable, so most of the bawwing is probably coming from people (idiots) who thought that having rares in the game would give them some "LOL PICK UP AN ITEM AND BECOME A BILLIONAIRE"-tier opportunity.

Of course rares will get insanely hoarded, but it's going to take a long time before they actually become decently valuable. If there's more coming in to the game regularily it should also slow down most of the "rich people hoarding rares and then controlling the price so average players will never be able to get one"-crap.

TBH having rares simply as a moneysink, selling each one for 10-50M or w/e coins, would be kind of good for the economy.

Holy shit community event? That's fucked up :S What the hell let's all vote for something else is the difference between the options (as in votes) alot?

 

Um.. Actually, it would be the complete opposite. When the first rare comes out, there would only be one of that rare in the entire game, making it invaluable. Over time, more and more will be introduced, thus making them less valuable.

I don't understand why people couldn't be content with the game without rares. Now some random kids will become hundred millionaires or billionaires just because they got lucky.

 

If you look closely "76% voted for No to "Community Events" so current leader is "Randomly Drop" at 65%

 

Would be cool if they put them in shops for 100m each for a week. That would make them truly rare, but I guess that's not happening.

 

To be honest, I'd much rather them be community events, considering everyone gets a chance at owning a phat.. where as randomly dropped spots there is going to be very minimal amounts within the game itself.. leading to the explosion of pricing.

 

Each poll has to be 75%+ At "Yes" To pass, therefore i'm not sure if any will actually pass because most are "NO" majority voted ;o will be interesting.

 

Personally I don't like or agree with any of the options they have listed to re-implementing rares back into the game. If anything I think they should give every player with 500+ total 1 non-trade able cracker that when used has a very low random chance of giving a rare. I think that would be fair.
