Every single day that I go on Sythe there are at least two scam reports in the most recent posts. I have noticed that people that scam tend to be newcomers or 'members'. I have also noticed the increasing number of scam reports on Sythe, aswell as a lot of newcomers offering to buy items/gold/accounts with fraudulently obtained PayPal accounts.

Now, my suggestion is that newcomers and members are restricted from accessing the trade market until they reach a certain number of posts.

It's so easy for people to sign up and scam users oblivious to the fact that they're using hacked PayPal accounts.

    Why this would work?
Obviously this won't deter all scammers, but a large number of scammers will turn their back to the idea of posting 100 times and, instead, will scam on another forum.

All feedback is welcome, but I think it could work.

Post count shouldn't determine legitimacy while trading nor should it influence anyone to trade with that seller just because he's a guru. Go through peoples vouches and if you feel suspicious of someone use a MM. Also, this would just cause a large amount of people spamming to get past the restrictions.

    /Facepalm.
That's not the point you moron. It's the fact that people are so easily able to create accounts and immediately enter the market to scam by targeting oblivious users by offering to pay upfront using stolen PayPal accounts.
If people are legitimately interested in trading, they can acquire the required post count and enter the market.

Also if they're offering to pay up front without any arguments that right there should be a heads up that they're suspicious and logic should kick in to not accept paypal from new users. Also, how many paypal accounts are stolen on a daily basis? Because I doubt it's in the hundreds and thousands and this happens every hour to need such action required.

No one would come to Sythe then lol.

Every decently respected member started off trading in the market with 0 post count pretty much

All this would cause is people to post stupid pointless annoying messages (SPAM) all through the rest of the forum in a hurry to get into the market. I think as buyers and sellers we all have to be responsible enough to choose who we decide to do business with and take the necessary precautions.

    No support from me.

If there's a post count restriction then people are likely to just spam everywhere to get the required post count and then scam. So the staff will have to deal with a scam report(s) and load of spam to deal with. Its much better to try and educate new users on safe trading and such. At the end of the day they're responsible when they go do a trade.

No. Pretty much. Why restrict new users from using the forums? Been suggested so many times and it all comes down to "No, we're not putting restrictions on the market and its users". If people just traded safely they wouldn't get scammed, it's as much their fault.

No thank you. The quality of the off topic posts on this forum are sub-par as it is, and doing this would encourage more shitty spam posts.

    As everyone else said:

Nop, it's pointless putting such restrictions on market. First off, I've seen people with no posts being legit, thereafter post count doesn't affect the legitimacy of a person. Putting such a restriction would cause a lot of spam in forums, though I must say it should lower the number of people creating new accounts to scam people, but the problem with scammers is that people get so easily scammed, that sometimes it's painful to hear those stories, thereafter it's mostly not the problem with the scammers as it's a problem with the people who get scammed.

    Post count limits/requirements

On the DNS list. Sythe has also said that he will never allow market restrictions.

Many people come to Sythe just to use the market, if we restrict new users we wouldn't get any new users.

    Denied and closed.

I just want to reiterate and stress what shoop said. Sythe is an open market and we WILL NOT restrict who can or cannot use the trading forums (aside from the usual bans and forum bans for abuse of the system)
