Scammers Pardon - Repaying RSGP.

Hi, I think when a scammer does a pardon and fails to repay his victim because they have moved on from RS and are unable to contact them they should be able to give it to a moderator to hold. It's pretty much free RSGP to the moderator if they fail to ever turn up and the guy who got scammed is out of pocket still.

Should be a new rule, if you fail to find all your victims and repay them then you shouldn't be unbanned and not able to just give RSGP to staff who may end up getting a nice little bonus of free RSGP.

 

They do give it to staff if the victims cannot be contacted.

He doesn't want it being given to staff, I agree with Fendle if the person can't be contacted then the person shouldn't be unbanned until the repayment is made to the person they scammed.

People change throughout time though, as they grow older they grow mature, they learn right from wrong.

 

Mhm, still I always believe a mod shouldn't profit from a scam.

 

That isn't the point, the point that the gold is being given to the wrong people. There are a lot of people who give gold to staff and that gold is sometimes unclaimed by the scammed member so that gold just sits with the mod.

if the scammed member NEVER logs in.. or doesn't respond what happens next?you cant keep the member banned forever

 

Yes you can, there are many people here banned forever.

 

Maybe the Mod should be forced to donate the money to some charity if the scammed person does not show up after "X" time.

Unclaimed payments should go towards Sythe comps, as prize incentives.

 

No support and here is why, What if the person they scammed has went inactive? some people change and their second chance shouldn't be based on whether or not the person whom they scammed is active or not.

 

Last time I checked the money went to the admins, not the staff. And if you want this changed then suggesting something like the money going to and being kept safe by either Richard, Matthew or Govind is a better solution. Although I would trust all 3 general admins too.

 

I'm sure admins don't want to have to hold RSGP and risk roll backs for 0 profit.

Laptop but ether way you risk rollbacks and then the money is gone anyways. So why not into some sort of donation fund that goes towards sythe. They cash out the gp and use it towards sythe.

 

It would be better if the money be donated to a charity or sythe competition after an X amount of time.

Also to those claiming people should get 2nd chance by repaying their scams to mods/ admins, they really shouldn't as they are only repaying their scams to rejoin sythe and they scammed to leave sythe. There is no reason to believe they won't do the same when they choose to leave again and it is true that most scammers who have returned to sythe have scammed before leaving or attempted to do so.
