    much needed advice

So a couple of months ago my mother, sat me down and told me that she was diagnosed with severe bipolar disorder and that she is getting help for it and she was telling me that i might have it and she has noticed all the mood swings i have and everything, and she told me she takes medication for it now and it seems to be working, well my wife recently told me that the mood swings i have are getting worse and maybe i need to see a doctor about it, the thing is I'm not really fond of doctors or taking meds and I've been asking some friends and co-workers if they have noticed these mood swings and depression i have been having and most of them said yes they have noticed and told me i should do something about it, but i just cant come to do it....i just really don't know what to do anymore

If you don't want to see a doctor, try fixing the situation on your own. Whether it's a "medical" situation or not, ANYTHING in this world can be changed with willpower my friend.

Just remember doctors aren't all bad, but just remember the brain is the most powerful thing we have so try and talk yourself out of it.

Let me tell you man, the medicine is worth taking. If it can better benefit your career and relationships, it is worth getting over your fear of doctors. Don't feel ashamed of being afraid of them either, a lot of people are. Try this? http://www.anxietycoach.com/fear-of-doctors.html

I know how you feel about not wanting to see a doctor. I like most men wouldn't go to a doctor unless something really hurts, or something is hanging off.

Though, this is something you should look into. It might be that you don't have bipolar, and are just have depression and anxiety which makes you like this. Either way, a doctor will be able to help, and if you won't do this for yourself, do it for your wife. I expect she is very worried about you and would like to see you feeling better within yourself.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. This does not work for mental illness. Chemical imbalances in the brain will not be fixed by "thinking your way out of it." Go and see a DOCTOR. You may not have anything wrong with you, but only a DOCTOR can decide that. If you truly do have a mental disorder the medication you receive can make you feel x100 times better. Stay away from medical advice on the internet. If you need to talk about anything you can hit me up on my skype: questingrs123.

Bipolar disorder deteriorates the longer you have it. Despite all your wishes and discomfort you may have with doctors, you need to get it seen and checked up soon.

It may be nothing and just anxiety and paranoia at work, however if it is Bipolar then you really need to see a doctor as they are able to get you the treatment earlier, meaning any symptoms and effects you may suffer will be much less severe, and it can be tackled MUCH easier, and more importantly, faster.

Things like Bipolar disorder can alter and dramatically change your life, best get it sorted soon, or at least have the peace of mind you have nothing to worry about.

Get in touch if you need any support. Best wishes,
