    how is that fair? only high lvl people would be able to get. then ppl will hoard them and no one will be able to afford them again. terrible idea

    What's your point? If it were to be clue scrolls, then majority of the players would complain that "you need combat to do clue scrolls". Even with pickpocketing ham members, most of the clues require defence or some other combat related stat to be leveled.

    And either way people are going to hoard them.

    except with clue scrolls there would be alot more of them. also i think the best way is just to put them in a shop for like 1-10m ea and make them tradeable.

    People will just hoard rares if they're worth value. The only *fair* way is for everybody and untradeable.

    That'd kill the point of 'rares'.... it's not rare if everyone has it. Most of the fun in owning a rare is to show off, haha. They should just randomly drop them around RS for a few days.

    The other point of rares was that you had to earn it. Rares were received by veterans, and when the party hats and santas were given out, the amount of players wasn't even close to today.. There's no fair way to earn for a player of any level to earn a rare if it's discontinued, and with so many people already in the game, they wouldn't be considered rare for long anyways.

    Uhhh....they'd have to get the cash, and then buy one? Yes, people would initially hoard them...but eventually, they'll obviously be traded/sold. It might just take some time though... I don't understand what you mean by
    ... It'll be the same as it is in regular RS..

    Rares should be luck based/randomly distributed throughout the worlds...it's the only way you can have phats/masks/etc. in the game and still call them rares.

    I think the BEST way IMO is to give them via Random Events.
    It would still be a 1/100 chance of getting it, but with the amount of Events done in an hour is ridiculous. As well, set a Time-Limit of like 48 Hours of Rare Items in Events, and just on from there.

    You get Random Events whether you are a Pure, Skiller, PvMer, PKer, Staker, Idler.

    If they release rares ANY other way then spawning them throughout RuneScape like they have done in the past I will be very annoyed.

    To me a large part of Runescape is rares. I wouldn't go so far as to say rares define Runescape but they defiantly make up a huge part of the game. Releasing rares as extremely rare treasure trail rewards/an event/monster drops/buyable from an NPC would be pointless. It defeats the purpose of rares. They just wouldn't be RARES anymore. I want a rare because they're RARE and I know no more are coming into the game. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm crossing my fingers hoping for the best.

    I would prefer just non-tradable rares to come back so we don't ruin the economy as we have in eoc.

    They weren't rares when Jagex first implemented them, they're known as rares now because of how long its been since those events. I think they should do it the old way, hence the name "Oldschool RuneScape".. I wasn't around back before 2005 so I never obtained a party hat, had a few santas and masks and such, but they should be introduced accordingly, like Santas on christmas, H'ween masks on halloween, etc.. Imo it'd be nice to keep the tradeables still tradeable and let time have its toll on the 'rares'. I wouldn't go so far as to give every Old player a rare, that would be silly.

    Also, some people do not do combat skills, personal preference, I do so I am not part of that bunch, but if they were to have to kill high level monsters.. That would not be fair too. Same goes for people who don't do clue scrolls, or non-combats.

    It's nice that they're bringing it back, I'll be greatfull if I get bunny ears and a sythe + rubber chicken, and maybe my first party hat.. Don't even mind if its just one.

    Rares will be pointless if they aren't tradable. I will be disappointed if they make them untradable or put way too many in the game

    I like the idea of them being in a NPC shop, unlimited stock, so it's kind of like buying shards in a way but for 07....but it should be a LARGE price for them tho, even HIGH for 07 just because they are rares.

    This is the only fair way tbh. I think they should set a high price and then remove the store after a certain amount of time, like a few weeks.

    I don't want them to be given randomly or given by chance, because they would be rarer than even 3rd age. I understand that luck plays a huge role in Runescape, but people shouldn't become billionaires because of a lucky drop.

    A shop with an unlimited supply makes them the opposite of rare, regardless of the price.

    Tbh, they should be released just like any holiday items, and made to be untradeable.

    There's no reason for them to be tradeable, other than investment and greed of certain players. Gold farmers, IRL traders and merchants will end up with stockpiles of them and the economy will be shit.

    They should have an auction for rares. Like every few hours (for a few days) each world auctions off a rare and the highest bidder takes it.

    Hardly fair for players who chose not to use combat.



    I don't see why they'd do it any differently to how it was done before.

    Rares will never be the same as before. And let them drop from monsters or reward from clue scrolls? That wouldn't make them the REAL rares. Then it just becomes a rare drop or reward. And they will never be worth alot like they were on real runescape.

    but no really, I don't see how we can bring them back fairly and still keep them "rare". You pick one, we bring back rares fairly or we bring back "rares"
