Bots Being Banned

So bots are being banned, but mostly for gold farming.

Has anyone been banned from botting that wasn't goldfarming also? Like Just
botting one account for leveling up skills?

Just curious.

my 2400 maxed main just got banned. Fuck

 

K guys so I have been questioning whether jagex has actually been banning accounts or not and I finally got my answer. Now I'm not saying this is ANY way shape or form due to simba because it is simply not.... however I do have a good feeling that my ban was a result of a few things: lvl 3 combat, an incredibly obvious bot name, only worked on 1 skill (75 wc), and botted in places where bots are notorious for being found (seers yews).

On top of that, I had prior infractions on this account for botting back on runescape 2, so I feel like my account had already been flagged long before. I did suicide wbot for around 2 downs, until they underwent extreme downtime and DDoS. I didn't use simba a whole lot due to the chopper script having issues so I would have to blame wbot for this one.

But just a heads up guys, they are starting to crack down.

A lot of legit players got banned as well, JageX went overboard.

Also happened to me. Wtf...

 

4/4 accounts banned, all on yews in North Varrock at the time, though they had previously been at Seers village.

 

It's because EOC noobs who went to 07 did not know their bot's are not smart enough to solve randoms yet. But the EOC noobs who dont bot and give me fun pking in wildy <3 Love you.

You'll get unbanned quite easily this time, Jacmob (plus other jMods I heard) went around banning random people who they thought may be bots, banning innocent players in the mean time... It's their new "botwatch" software for 07.

 

Jacmob had/has nothing to do with OSR. Of those people claiming to have been wrongly banned, can any of them prove they weren't? Bots in OSR are very much obvious, if players were banned from the bot-sweep I'm guessing it was for a good reason.

Also, no, botwatch is not in OSR.

 

Just be careful for the bot hunts on certain dates.

Chill... before that event Jacmob wasn't involved with OSR at all, and because the bot-busting events were posted by other moderators I assumed it would only be those moderators.

 

I've been botting like a tard with no ban so far. I'm on my regular pure account (level 60) training range in a spot that i have NEVER seen anyone and i've been training/botting here for about 2 weeks now. That's the smart part, the dumb part is that i'm almost suiciding with a crap bot that can't solve all the randoms yet and i've got teleported about 15-20 times so far by randoms that it doesn't detect and still haven't been banned SO FAR. Now, it does stop the script and logout once it's teled away so that might help some but idk. Do you guys think i'll be banned soon?

 

That's what my question is. I've been botting pretty hardcore on my main/pure since the get go when no randoms were solved. Even now I fail randoms fairly often. Taking a break until this whole bot busting business is over LOL

 

Wonder if they will ever have an effective way of dealing with bots..
