Funnest type of account to play as?

Debating on coming back to rs again for the old school servers and was wondering what type of account I should go for? I don't want to do a main as thats what I played through 2007 as and I was thinking of doing something like a pure account and maybe doing some clan wars and solo pking. What are some of the fun types of accounts to pk as?

I was thinking of something range related like a 1 def range pure or a range tank and wanted to know opinions on them and how well they worked out in the wildy in 2007? Also how was staking, is it any fun or was pking more fun?

 

Create a zerker! LOADS of fun!

 

I'd go with either a maxed Range Tank or a maxed Zerker to be honest.

They're both wonderful PK accounts, and they have the added bonus of being able to do many other activities that you would consider things only a 'main' can do.

 

Make a gmauler. Tons of fun because you can get ridiculous KOs

Leanijg towards the range tank but how long does it usually take and cost to train one up to stats to start pking?

the most fun i'v ever had on runescape was when i had my medium level obby tank with 1 att 75 def and 80 str, it fucked shit up in the wildy, and i only died a handfull of times compared to the MANY kills i got, pluss your in full torags or whatnot hitting 40's fighting pures with 1 def

Likeing the idea of the Obby Tank, takes lest time to get to the stats required to start pking but still allows me to turn into a range tank if I ever decided to. Im guessing all stats would be 1 other than HP, Def, and Str?

 

Ranged tank, zerker, or 70-99-1 is fun too.

 

Doesn't really leave you with the option to go range tank after because your strength would be higher than 70 or so. Most old school range tanks were 70-70-99

 

Obby mauler (1 att, 99 str, 1 def, 1 pray, 60 range, around 50 cb).

 

True but I could always sacrifice the 10 atk levels and be 60-70-99, maybe not the best long term idea but id have more fun early on and id rather be having fun early on than training all day.

 

In my opinion, Zerker is the funnest =]

 

I must say I enjoyed 1 def pure and zerker most.

 

It really depends on how much effort you want to put in.. Things like zerkers, to be most effective take a lot of effort (venge, b gloves, everything). But you can also get the mid-tier ones stopping at rune-drag gloves, not bothering with venge, stopping at around 90 str. Still ko's a lot, but obviously not as much.

 

I actually had a dharok pure back in 07 and I had a shitload of fun on that. At the moment I'm making a maxed 1 def (99-99-1) and I can't see it being anything other than fun.
