Obby tank? Advice needed!

Hey lads, i started my obby pure and got 60 att, got hacked and returned to a lovely 2 defence! I have heard of 'obby tanks' but im not sure what they're like?

Do they actually work?

I Was thinking 1/80/40 ?

Just keep it at 2 defence and carry on with 1 attack/99strength. You could get a high level defence if you really wanted and see how that went.

 

already got it to 10 mate, have an OCD about having 2 defence haha

 

Yes they work, and yes they are scary haha. Especially at 70+ def and if you have a slayer staff, they're pretty strong vs pures.

 

any idea what cb level i would be with 70 def and 80 str mate?

My favorite account for pking used to be my obby tank 75 def slayer staff dfs fighter torso swapped for obby maul and wearing torag lol you hit hard and take no damage whats not to love?

That's how I know you either weren't a big PK'er in RSC, or just sucked ass at PK'ing in RSC

In all honesty I would have kept it at 2 Defence until you found that you wanted more, but since you've gone to 10 I'd recommend questing your Def up to wear Torags.

pre eoc i had a tank 1 att 80 str 75 def

full bandos fury zerker ring zerker nec slayer staff dfs, maxed gear, it was boss.

if you are wanting to make a 40-45 def zerk/obby tank make sure you quest the def like you would a berserker pure They wreck in the wild

The problem with obby tanks are exactly what the name says they are tanks you basically just waste a lot of food while the other person bareley hits on you but theres basically no chance of killing your opponent because obby maul is slow and they can easily safe! stick to normal obby maul pure there hp is low so u get accual ko's

 

A couple of good builds:
5/80/45 ~70hp 31 pray
16/80/45 ~70 hp 15/31 pray (for zerker helm)
5/85/60 ~75 hp 31 pray (Personally, waiting for/if dragon boots come out for this one)

I prefer zerker tanks, just because I feel the obby tank is most dominant/fun in the 55-65 combat range (it's great higher than that too, it's just your opponent's start to get a lot better.)
Obviously slayer staff is hugely important, along with addy gloves and torso and if you want, fighter hat.

 

guys what quests are needed?

 

Wow that's hardcore, to put that into perspective I am 67 cb with 71 range, 45 def and 52 prayer... Most zerkers this cb are only around 60 atk str...

 

Is it worth staying 1 prayer to have the lower combat level or should i get 13/31/52 prayer?

Not trying to thread jack but also decided to give obby tank a try. one thing that has happened is being called a noob a lot while training because i have defence...cant wait to prove them all wrong.

 

had a lot of the 'noob' stuff myself haha, saying i have failed my pure etc, asked them for a fight when i reach their cb's but they refused

Im at the moment staying at one prayer so the only main quest I plan on doing is Dragon slayer for the def and str xp plus rune plate body. Other than that been doing random quests just for quick quest points. Also ILikeCake if you want to you can pm me your ingame name, I'll add you. It could be cool knowing osmeone else ingame who is making an obby tank like me.

 

exact same plan as me mate, ill decide whether or not i want pray when all my other stats are complete, also doing dragon slayer and quest for mith gloves

will get fighter torso and fighter helm
