They can't really find statements to support Bawzs, in response they only say "PROOF?".

Wow I didn't realize OP was a staff member.

Why hasn't this been closed yet? I don't agree with many bans but you don't see me making threads about it.

    Bawsz Dispute

Alright I'm going to create this post to help set the facts straight because there are a lot of wild accusations on this thread related to Bawsz.

    1. Did Bawsz actually scam anyone on sythe? No, the only scam report is there because the guy changed the password so Bawsz could not continue the order. Bawsz intends on refunding the guy, but has no way to contact him since he is banned on sythe.

    2. Did Bawsz actually snipe any names? No, there is no proof suggesting that any name owned by Bawsz was sniped.

    3. What about the name "BF"? MkarnRanger claims that he sniped that name? There is no proof that the name BF was sniped by Bawsz. The name BF was never sold on sythe so the person that took the name could not know if "BF" was transferring the name or just simply did not want it anymore.

This leads to the next question, which needs to be cleared up a bit by a mod.

    4. What exactly is name sniping? I'm pretty sure the term name sniping was first used by O_R_L_Y on sythe. This was the act of taking a from someone while they attempted to transfer it. At this current time, most would consider name sniping the act of simply putting a rare name onto your account that you did not purchase. Whether you took the name because the owner simply allowed it to free up, or if the owner was trying to transfer it is not relevant.

    5. What types of name sniping are against the rules? There are a lot of different ways to snipe a name and also a lot of different scenarios where a name could be sniped. I personally do not know which scenarios are against the rules and which are not so I would need a mod to clear this up.

Scenario 1: Rare name owner sells his name on sythe. Sythe member purchases the name and tries to transfer it to his own account, but a sniper takes the name first. I am 100% sure this form of name sniping is not allowed.

Scenario 2: Random person not related to sythe decides to transfer his name to another account of his. The name sniper manages to take the name first. Not sure about this scenario.

Scenario 3: Random person had a rare name but decided he or she did not want it anymore. The person changes their name twice and allows the rare name to become available. The name "sniper" takes the name for his own account. In my opinion this should not be against the rules, but the problem is that you can't really know if the person was planning to transfer the name or simply give the name up. The only way to know is if you wait a good 15 minutes before taking the name on your own account. Even then, what if the person had an intent to transfer the name, but then disconnected while they were in the process of transferring it?

Scenario 4: A person has a rare name and wants to sell it on Sythe, but he or she is not trusted so the person makes the name RFT. The person can not find anyone to buy the name and stops paying attention to it. After a few months pass JaGeX frees up the previous name of the account, which is the rare name, and it becomes available for the public to take. The name "sniper" takes the name on his own account. Again, I am not sure on if this scenario is against the rules.

Scenario 5: Same as scenario 4, except the person has no intent on selling the name and simply quits RS. The name eventually becomes available and the name "sniper" takes it. In my opinion this should not be against the rules, but I'm not sure if it is.

Scenario 6: This scenario involves negligence when transferring the name or bad luck. The person is trying to transfer the name, their internet disconnects right as the person tries to take the name on their own account. The person comes back a few hours later and realizes that someone else got the name before he or she could. Here is another example: A person decides to transfer their name with the offensive transfer method. The person makes the name offensive, but Jagex takes a long time to notice and resets the name while the person transferring it was sleeping. The person transferring the name wakes up the next day, realizes the name was taken by someone else. These types of scenarios are unlikely, but do happen sometimes. Not sure about the ruling on this.

Scenario 7: This is the most unlikely scenario of them all, but it has happened before. A person attempts to transfer their name. At the same time someone looking for a new name happens to type in the name that the other person is transferring. The person sees that the name is open and quickly takes it before the other person can successfully transfer the name. This scenario is confusing and hard for either person to prove what actually happened. Not sure about that one.

EDIT: after reading the rules quoted by MkarnRanger, it seems that only Scenario 1 is against the rules, I still need mod confirmation on this though.
As you can see, I just thought of seven different scenarios that involve name sniping. This was a little off topic, but I believe that a mod needs to address this.

    6. How can you prove a name was sniped? In my opinion there are only two ways to prove a name was sniped, although this depends on what you consider name sniping. The first way to prove a name was sniped is to get the owner of the sniped name to admit that he or she sniped it. The second way to prove a name was sniped is to have video evidence of you transferring the name and it getting taken before you could transfer it. This would of course depend on a mods ruling about accidental name sniping and a mods ruling about negligence while transferring.

    7. After stating all of that I will answer the question on if Bawsz sniped the name "BF". Is their video evidence of the owner of "BF" trying to transfer the name and it getting taken before he or she could successfully transfer it? No. Did Bawsz ever say that he sniped the name BF? No. Further, the actual current owner of BF never even claimed that the name was sniped, just a person claiming to be friends with the owner of "BF". Another thing I would like to bring up, is that it seems that one mod was implying that Bawsz never owned the name "BF" at all, as he was not able to verify ownership of the name when requested to, and that he should receive a TWC for not being able to provide proof of ownership. Here is another piece of evidence that MkarnRanger provided to help prove Bawsz's innocence. http://puu.sh/2qxL7
As you can see in the screenshot it states that it is only against the rules to snipe names that were sold on sythe or any other community. MkarnRanger claims that the name was sniped from his or her friend as his or her friend was transferring it. Since there is no record of the name being sold on Sythe or any other community, even if Bawsz did snipe this name, which he did not, it would not violate Sythe's rules.

    8. Is it against the rules to sell a previously sniped name, if you were not the one to snipe it? I have seen a lot of threads where names that were previously sniped are still allowed to be sold because the thread owner states that he or she bought the name from someone else and were not the owns who sniped the name. Not 100% sure on this, would need a mod to clarify.

    9. What is Team RFB? According to the evidence provided by Bawsz, Team RFB is an IRC channel/team that focuses on dungeoneering. It is owned by one of the best dungeoneerers on runescape with countless "records". I have also seen posts on sythe where people claiming to be from "Team RFB" have sniped names. In conclusion, Team RFB appears to be a big team of 30+ people that are involved in dungeoneering, and out of those people maybe 2-3 of them are attention hungry name snipers that feel the need to create topics on sythe trolling the users.

    10. Since in some of bawsz's screenshots he claims to be in Team RFB, does that mean he is a name sniper? Does this mean Bawsz should be banned from sythe? Let me give an example that should be easy to understand. Say I was a proud member of "Mayhem Makers", a well known established pure clan. I needed to make some money so I decided I would open up a thread on sythe offering my services for questing, skilling, and fire capes. Since I was a proud member of my clan, every time I completed an order I would take a screenshot saying "Fcpl0x completes Fire Cape 63 #mayhem_makers" or something along those lines. Later on, a member of the same clan is involved in name sniping. This member is also proud of his clan, so every time he snipes a name he will take a screenshot of his new name and say something along the lines of "Kax here sniping yo name #mm_snipes". Kax being the imaginary name sniper, and #mm_snipes standing for Mayhem Makers Snipes. It would be very unfair to punish me for being in the same clan as "Kax" seeing as I have no intention to snipe names, never have sniped a name, and because I joined "Mayhem Makers" purely to pk with other pures and not to snipe names. As you can see from the example, the exact same thing applies to Bawsz. Bawsz joined "Team RFB" to dungeoneer with other members who were skilled at dungeoneering. It is proven that "Team RFB" is a dungeoneering team and not a name sniping team. Bawsz joined "Team RFB" to partake in the dungeoneering skill on runescape, he has never sniped a name, and has never had any intention to snipe a name. It is very unfair to even give him a TWC for the actions of another member of a team he joined, when he has absolutely nothing to do with this member, or any name sniping at all.

If anyone has any further questions or needs anything else cleared up please add me on skype and I will be happy to help. My skype is: Logged.out

you guys are claiming that you trust him with thousands of dollars, so if he really intends on refunding me let him transfer the 4.5m 07scape gp to one of you and then you can transfer it to me. or I can pm you my ingame name and he can trade me in Runescape.....

By not doing so I assume that he is going to scam me unless he gets unbanned.

I can point of many things wrong about it, the name was never sold, it was just getting xfered to an hosting acc.

Yeah, I can record his desktop and capture the moment when the account got sniped. If you followed the name up to the day the name got put up on sale, you would have noticed the name got in here within days of getting xfered.

PS Thanks Sean, I thought Frenzyy was going to ban him?[/QUOTE]

I see, but is there proof/fact's not suspicions that it was bawsz?

if you could prove me wrong then i would to agree with his ban.

Scenario 8: Person related to Sythe tries to xfer his name to an hosting account. Name gets sniped and is being sold up on Sythe 11 hours after the transfer.

There will never be, the environment he used to live in made it more visible to us that he was indeed a sniper.

Staff have the right to keep any user banned if they feel that they cannot trust them on this site, therefore the proof that he is a member of a team that is known for sniping names is enough. The proof of that was posted on multiple threads etc. He donated $300 to make it look like he was completely legit after <100 posts, so it's usually a sign that they're dodgy as fuck. I'd rather never see him back on this site purely because he had teamRFB members do his questing and skilling services with him also, and they were related to name sniping. Also, anyone who sells a name that has been sniped 11 hours after deserves to be banned, and the 1000000 disputes he is making is taking the piss.

Lol, name sniping, regardless of whether it's related to sythe, is STILL scamming. Second of all ..
One can reasonably infer he did. He couldn't have bought the name within 11 hours of the snipe. Which moron would give up that rare of a name? That's bs. Btw, stop defending "the person who did it" .... Makes you look like you support sniping.

Hes going to have a very hard time getting unbanned, and if he does a name forum ban is likely as well

anyone associated with RFB should be banned from name sales if they support RFB - thats just the logical thing to do

Well Like I said he should be guilty by association. If I am with someone who robs a bank I get charged as an accomplice.

Yeah, but you probably wont be sentenced for it if you didn't know anything about it/helped the person who robbed the bank.

I can almost bet 100% that you would do some time. But that's not the point, I just think that if he is brave enough to hang out with people who steal names then there is a chance he could scam in the future.

@Lean You do have some evidence right because accusing someone of scamming with no proof you could get banned for. so you know.
