Pretty sure Jagex said they'll never release those items.

 

Hopefully not, that would ruin the game tbh

 

They're thinkin of ways to bring all the rare items back there be probably a Poll about it anyways

They released a thread on the topic about how they should bring rares into the game if at all a week or 2 ago don't think rares will make it into 07 as many people think it will ruin the eco.

 

There is no real fair way to distribute rares. Only fair way would be to have them for sale to everyone, which wouldn't really make them rares. Some people think it would be fair to have them as an ultra-rare award from difficult clue scrolls, but that would still not be fair. Why should someone become an instant hundred millionaire (maybe even billionaire) because they were lucky.

 

I hope not!

 

They should give them to those ranked first page on hi-scores. Free phat for me.

Highly unlikely. However It's plausible that they may add it in the future. How? I'm not really sure. It could be added to clue scrolls as a obscenely rare prize, who knows.

 

The only reason that phats were implemented in the first place is because they were that common everyone had them, but once they started to die out people wanted them and that's when they became rare.

 

I feel that rares are important to the game. It is what keep players going on and on. Rares are the only thing that will only continue to increase in price, whereas other weapons/treasure trail items will only decrease in price.

This is because the supply of rares can only go down, whereas the supply of other items will only go up.

Rares will keep players (at least those in the more elite area) motivated to play. It is a symbol of wealth and players can flaunt it. Without rares, players will soon reach the peak of the game (getting 99s and all the weapons/armor possible available) and may soon get bored.

There will be an imbalance of gold and items created. The purpose of rares were to balance this imbalance.

Jagex stated themselves MANY times they didnt intend for partyhats to be hoarded, insanely valuable and did not think of the reprecussions at the time of making the items tradeable. Also, when rares were introduced, no one had anywhere remotely close to a max cash stack and at the time of the drop only a handful of players had a single, yes just a single 99. Think of it as a lucky mistake. At one point they considered removing rares, in a 2003 news post.

OT: I want my rares asap.

 

That would blow. Everyone would have one or more so they wouldn't be very rare.

 

Make rares as rare as 3rd age items in clues, problem solved.

Level 1 clues could have the edible rares and misc items such as disk's and half wines.

Level 2 could have bunny ears, scythe and santas.

Level 3 could have phats and masks ofc.

 

I have an opinion that a lot of people probably don't agree with...

When rares first came into the game, pretty much everyone had them. The reason they went up in price is because the people who had them either dropped them because they were worthless, or quit.

So I think Jagex should do it the same way. Give each accouny either a Christmas Cracker, Santa Hat, Pumpkin, Easter Egg, which ever event they do.

What's your opinion on my opinion?


EDIT: This would not ruin the game or economy. If you think this ruins the game or economy please elaborate on how.. They are only cosmetic items + have no bonuses (that I know of). So if you believe these would ruin the game.. Take out 3rd age or barrows first. As those give some of the best stats and could be considered rare and overpowered.

 

Phats only reached the amount they did from initial dupes and Jagex 'accidentally' making them tradeable.
