Lagging terribly at java startup

I've been having this kind of strange ongoing issue where my entire computer lags for maybe 10-20 seconds when any java type application is opened.

I have a current version of java and everything.

Wondering if someone has any idea/guess at what this is and how to fix it.

I've checked the memory that its taking up and that seems to be pretty normal.

What type of computer is it, and has this been happening ever since you bought the computer?

 

Its an asus g74sx laptop

Nope, it randomly started happening about a month ago and hasn't seemed to resolve itself.

Are you sure you havent got a virus etc? The only similar case I could find in the net ended in just being a virus: http://www.help2go.com/forum/computer-help/102274-java-windows-startup-lag.html

 

I don't think Java can just start 'Randomly Lagging.' Somethings probably wrong with your computer, I'd just look at basic possibly issues. Viruses, Cache, maybe hardware? I honestly have no specific idea, but I'd imagine it has to be something. Try re-installing Java? I've had issues in the past where Java just completely shits on out me lol.

 

I'm pretty confident it isn't a virus since I've tried avira/mse/avast!/malwarebytes/comodo etc and nothing has been picked up. Also the issue only seems to happen with java applications.

Well it does. Doubt that its a virus, the java cache has already been cleared. Hardware(a possibility?) but this only recently started happening. I've reinstalled java already and it hasn't helped the situation.

Clearing the java cache seems to help slightly but still having problems opening java type applications.
