wBOT - My Experience.

I believe that it was certain malicious scripts on the website, not all of the scripts though.

 

Yee got hacked too, luckily I dumped out.. and as you said, these other kids that seem to be "noob" at computers complain.. Well it seems like it hit us both. Fucking bs. Same I.P address as yours too I believe.

 

If you havent already logged on to the EOC game on the account which was hacked, please do so now and screenshot the ip, this would be pretty conclusive.

 

According to their website, Wbot isn't coming back.

 

what was wierd was i had someone log onto my account. but they didnt take anything, granted i only had 200k on 07 but my eoc had bank pin so they couldnt get anything from there. as soon as they logged on i got an email saying my account has been locked

 

... and the stories keep coming of people losing their banks.

 

edit: Nevermind... friend pulled a prank on me, I guess. I still advise you guys to change your passwords, however.

Do you really believe that? That Twitter account is run by a bunch of 12-year-olds, guaranteed.

 

You say the client itself is malicious. It's written in VB (Visual Basic) which with a good encrypter can be deadly by injecting almost anything into your computer/registry, however I find it hard to believe if there's an un-obfuscated source code of this somewhere, which must surely have been checked.

I write scripts for both versions of RuneScape, if you've ever been asked by a script to bypass a firewall for whatever reasons stated such as i.imgur (Which could host the paint/interface) this can send all of your credentials to them. This is no fault of the bot, as it can just displayMessage("i.imgur") and actually send your credentials over.

I've never used wBot, but if it never gave firewall warnings, it's most probably suspicious as it would've accepted them automatically, therefore being odd and most probably malicious.

Summary

Don't bot. Any scripter can add a few lines of code to send your credentials anywhere.

If you have botted, reformat your PC and make sure to delete every partition.

Firewalls don't usually operate how you think they do... There is infact an unobfuscated wBot source out there. Encrypted java programs can be checked for malicious code, its just more difficult.

Also theres 3 versions of runescape.

 

Why is this thread still going wbot has been shut down and won't be coming back up as I know it, let this thread die like wbot
