[ATTN] Regarding wBot

As people are starting to hear about as it's spreading like wildfire is that wBot is now done and won't be coming back, I am not here to confirm that at all because quite frankly I do not know...

However what I do know, is what I am going to be telling you here, and is just
100% MY PERSONAL OPINION AND WANT TO SHARE A TIP TO SYTHE.

Now since the 'company' if you will wBot is gone they have no reason to uphold a healthy relationship with any of their users let's face the facts.

So what I am HIGHLY advising you all that have ever used or downloaded wBot to remove it completely run a full detailed virus scan on your computer, and change all of your passwords effective immediately once confirming your computer is safe.

Many people would overlook a situation like this, but whoever is running the show over at wBot could very well end up being really sketchy, or pull a Powerbot and claim they were 'hacked'.

We should keep this thread up to date with cases of anyone finding anything like a virus or having other accounts being hacked other than RS threads. Personally I'm not changing all of my passwords or system restoring yet, but if I see something I might consider it.

 

Proactive > reactive

 

Having to back up all of my school work before I system restore and change 40+ of passwords the day before my psych and calc 2 exam < reactive

Change you rs passwords, not your whole computer

 

I did that. But he mentioned the possibility of a virus from within wbot that is now on any computer that downloaded it. i.e. can easily grab any other password.

On another note, I hope vInject is more reputable, they look pretty good.

 

Highly doubt anyone would be interested in your Homework or anything other than Runescape, unless they are trying to be real serious and get into Id Theft etc taking your personal information.

All I, we, are saying is to stay safe all this is, is a warning.

 

Scanned with KiS, nothing detected. There's absolutely no point in changing any password other than your RS password, even then I doubt the hooks actually captured the login details of users.

Also, this is great since hopefully more people will move to Simba usage, so there will be more demand for a larger number of scripts and an increase in quality of scripts.

 

yeah I love the simba community, but I don't think any bot written in pascal will ever be at the same level as java bots. I stopped scripting there because community members told me there is no way a color bot could possibly be 100% accurate.
