Looking forward to this! Have you thought about VIP system yet? For example, do you need to donate if you wanna run like 10 bots?

As if you would say this aha. What about all the people that play EOC and then there is you and your EOC bots

Oh where to start?

The majority of the loss of respect, from me to Jagex, is based on their poor decisions in the current RS. Micro transactions and such, SoF, Solomans Shop, whatever else. Lack of attention towards the players.

The current RS is far too easy to gain XP in all given skills, it's just a joke. An enticing aspect of the '07 servers was the classic grinding a lot of us veterans dealt with when we first started playing. You can't compare skill capes of the current RS to 07, it's much more difficult, putting a challenge back into game play.

And especially back in those old days items were harder to acquire and having a few millions meant much more.


And, about the comment on my scripts. My scripts have never, ever been directed towards generating mass profits or sucking limited resources from the game, and certainly have never been built for multiple account usage. If you look at my scripts you'll find they're constructed for player skill building. Mine were never intended to put a dent, or even make a noticeable change, in Runescape.


Now that bots are just popping out of the ground everyone and their brother is running multiple accounts gaining gold, depleting the few resources available in-game. But why should their care, right? As long as their back account builds, who cares who suffers and has to fight for the small amounts of items?


And the bot developers are just getting fat off it all. Once upon a time bots were developed for free and worked on as a community. Eventually one starts charging money, then the other bot developers notice the profit the others are making and they charge money. Now there are no bots that don't ask for you to pay up. Was it ever even about the game for them? Or was it about $$ all along?

What do you prefer I say? "Thank you, developers of "insert bot #18501734 name here", for ruining the game 490,000 fought to bring back"? "Thank you for destroying the only respectable portion of Jagex that remains". "Thank you for rending every item, legitimately acquired by real players, useless". "Thank you for declaring skills as 'non-respectable' because of how easily they're trained by a program". You're my hero.

 

People take this game way to seriously...

 

Everyone has their own opinion. To those who actually enjoy EOC you just appear as a hypocrite. There are people who love EOC and hate 07. Saying that your bots aren't detrimental to the game is your own biased opinion. Those people who play legit to get top ranks will hate you. Either way I could care less because I bot the hell out of all versions.

And there are so many free bots out there i'm not sure why you think everyone is money hungry. After all it is a service.

 

There are plenty of people using Simba to goldfarm on 07, do you have any idea of the running costs of a large bot or the amount of time that is required? In the end its just a game and when people can profit of it they will. Not many bot developers force users to pay and usually there is a free alternative which is all the average botter needs, if anything the paid versions were made paid to reduce mass gold farming.

What if I voted to bring old RS back, just so I could write scripts for it? I enjoy creating the scripts more so than the benefits they gives me in the game.

 

I know the feeling, but at the sheer number of users who will abuse those same scripts like no tomorrow, is it worth damning the game?

I understand what you mean and indeed this is only my opinion. How others view my scripts is up to them, no doubt. But if one were to compare any one of my scripts I've made thus far to any of the standard push-to-play java bots you'll see what I'm talking about. My scripts (as all intended SRL scripts) blend in with with normal players. We're not meant to be seen and we never make an impact on Runescape; we're invisible but we exist.

That's what the true nature of macros used to be, and for some of use that goal remains the same. I still hold a high amount of respect for the legitimate players of Runescape (very, very little for the staff itself).

It was released earlier today and now the website's down.

I'm willing to bet it's DDoSers even though there's not even any scripts released for it. Man... whoever's been DDoSing the 07 bots is very relentless...
