Bots have already started ruining the experience. No one wants to fight a bot for some logs or ores

Bots have already ruined OSRS, went back to EOC today. the experience of rebuilding the game lasted about 5 days. You can get anything if youve got enough cash and some people have got too much. Its feels like everybodies associating through their avatars, its the most illegit game since gaming. Unbeleivable IT IS ruined, EOC is more legit.

When I played originally, I was legit all the way.
Back in the day I played with all my friends irl.
In 2005/2006 I wrote my first very simple flecthing bot and was the first one if our group to get a 99. That is what moved me forward..

Since then I use bots for all the lame time consuming things in the game that I don't enjoy, but help me in doing tasks that I do enjoy.

Instead of picking flax and spinning it, I was outside enjoying my day. I would come back home to find 12k flax... I would sell it and use the money to go pking. I was a terrible pker for the longest time, so for me to enjoy good gear, botting the money for the gear was the only reasonable thing.

I would say that things really went bad in 2007/2008 when I sold my gold and got nearly 800$ worth of stuff for it. As I recall, I got 250$ cash, season lift tickets, new snowboard/bindings/boots and about 100$ in some random stuff. That was the last time I botted and enjoyed the game. Since then, everything I do is to make $.

With this start up of 07, I was able to produce my own bot with working anti-ban/randoms solver and went to town. I made enough in 1-2 weeks to pay for tuition for the next semester and then some. In my books that's quite a reasonable deal.

Botters are okay I guess, resources arrive in fair supply, however gold-farmers offer way too much supply, hence the EoC economy is in bits.

Everyone has to remember that bots mostly use nonrenewable things, such as pure ess, logs, flax, ore, etc. It does cause a decline in the price for those who actually work for the items, but it also gives enough supply for everyone. Most bows are alched, all runes are used, once they're used.. they're gone forever, and so on.. I do not like too many bots, but I guess they're something we all have to accept.

Most people played this game at the age of 11-15. Back then some of us had no lives. Or our lives were Runescape (as in you and all your friends played) so sitting there for hours woodcutting, fishing, mining etc was fine. But now. Nobody wants to play for a few years again. Whos going to really pick 10k flax legit? Most people won't. I bet the yews you fletch and the bowstring you buy. And the longs you alch. All were probably bought from somebody who botted them. I think bots can actually help Runescape.

I'm glad Jagex released 2007. Jagex knew bots would arrive. Thats why if the poll got 500k votes it would have came with some super bot defense or something along the lines. So, in my opinion Jagex actually wanted bots to be able to provide players with the resources they needed. Not many people play 07. Especially in comparison when it was really the year 2007.

I do agree that they keep the runescape economy as it is today.

The weird thing is that I don't know anybody who actually buys gold. I only know people who bot to max their accounts and once they start PKing/staking loads of money they start selling gold.

It always amazes me how many people are buying gold as there must be is a market for RS07 gp, otherwise there wouldn't be gold farmers.
