Do you make a transaction log of your trades?

I don't know if this is part of this section, but if something is related to $ and market topics, then I think this should be here.

I was wondering if anyone does a transaction log like in Microsoft Excel of his transaction log and take it seriously. Like record, how much you earn in 1 day, what did you spent on, how much you spent etc.

This was what I came out with. I've been in the market for 2-3 years but I didn't take it seriously but then my brother suggested to me that I should take it a bit seriously and record down my trades and from there we know if we are progressing in the right or wrong way.



I haven't really counted the EOC>'07 exchange yet. I just counted those in dollars.

 

When I sold and bought I recorded most transactions.

I'm trying to work out something close to that as I'm having a bit of headache at the moment counting '07>EOC vice-versa.

 

I don't trade much on Sythe anymore but I do do something similar for when I'm flipping items in Runescape.

I can imagine that if you kept up that formatting your spreadsheet would become pretty cluttered after a while. How is excel gonna read the Gp or Usd values if they're all part of the same cell? Same goes for 07 vs eoc.

 

I've remade the spreadsheet and I try to follow closely like Snow Patrol's ;D

 

I broke it down per month, and then at the end of the month I'd add up the totals add it to my "total", what's posted in the other topic is my total, but I can show you how I did it per month if you're interested.

Needless to say, not involved in the market anymore, don't really keep track of it anymore since I hardly do any trades nowadays

 

Hey I'm interested to know how you do it per month etc if you don't mind explaining to me?
