Won $20,000 on Lottery Ticket.

Has anyone ever had such luck? I was on my way home from an annoying day at the DMV/Court to take care of some business. I stopped to get gas at a gas station and bought a drink, some candy and decided to get a 5$ scratch lotto ticket. I scratched the ticket and I kid you not, all 5 of my "winning" numbers were on the "prize" part. The total winnings of the prizes alone were $2,000 and I was in shock actually, I must have looked over the card 50 times before telling myself that It was an actual winner. I then realized that I forgot to scratch the "BONUS" and the object in the BONUS place meant that I won 10x the total winnings on the card. I went today to the gas station and they scanned it and confirmed that I had indeed won 20k. They told me I had to go to the Lottery Office in my state to collect such a large amount of funds, so I went not long ago and collected the funds. Got a big check and took it straight to the bank and they said it will take about 7-10 business days to clear into my bank account. They did give me 100$ though for some reason, they said it was all they could give me from the $$. 7-10 business days is a heck of a long time to wait it seems, but I'm going to try my hardest not to blow it Has anyone else ever done anything similar to this?

I never, ever buy lottery tickets, but people do give them to me for my birthday and other events and the max I've won is 50 dollars.

I'm really not sure at all what I am gonna do with the money. I wanna buy a new Ninja 650 RR Bike for the summer honestly. And pay off my car, pay all my bills ahead of time for the rest of the year. Then put the rest in my savings account and build interest I suppose.

I've been buying a lottery ticket each week for the past year now most likely will never win but hey there's always a chance !

 

Should have taken a pic of the check/ticket. Not saying you're lying it just would have been cool to actually see that winning ticket=). Anyways congrats.

Not really, they usually take a good chunk and dont give none of it back, ut its still free money regardless.

 

Yeah that is true, Honestly if I didn't panic and thought it through, I wouldve got my papaw to cash it in since his only income is social security and he is married so he wouldve got taxed a lot less, right?

I've bought a few scratch cards in my time, but I've won no more than £20...
I'd suggest keeping that money and putting a down payment on a house or something or keeping it for your car... It's best to be smart with your money
