Returning after 8 years

As you can see by my join date I've been gone a long time, I quit before 2007 so I'm unfamiliar with a lot of things in the "old school" server.

Basically what I'm asking is:

Are the old school servers similar to 2005 - early 2006?
Is the community still as good as it was?
Are the old clans like DI still around?
Is it worth starting up again?

The old school servers are a replica of how runescape was in August 2007 I think.
The community seems pretty good so far.
No idea about the clans.
Yes it is if you really enjoyed Runescape back then and you have some spare time to play you're gonna have a blast

It's picked up from August 2007 (free trade, no god wars).

It's got better recently since the release of 07' most players are slightly more helpful and kind. As opposed to reg. Runescape, (EoC servers).

On behalf of DI, I don't believe they're around. Unsure if they've returned but from what I remember the majority of the clan stopped playing after the removal of the wilderness around 2009 I think. They're a few clans that have returned to play since the release which ones, I'm not 100% sure.

Is it worth starting up again?
If you enjoy the game, then yes. If you don't, then no.

 

A few of the old clans are coming back. Have a look around RS forums for more info. Haven't heard anything about D.I. yet though, but yeah it's worth starting up again IMO

Old School Fourms Link Search around there as stated some have returned but not that many of the clans. Im sure in time more will return tho as word gets around about the 07 servers.

 

There are tons of popular players coming back, its definitely worth a shot, I actually hopped on today and put more than 3 hours in. That never happened until old school runescape for me.
