    Looking to upgrade (PC)

Hey guys, I made my computer about a year ago but now I'm looking to upgrade it, though in small amounts starting with probably the GPU. I'm looking to be able to run games like League, Smite, FPS games, Crysis, Etc. Basically every single game at 60fps while streaming/recording. I'd appreciate it if you guys could give me more then one at different prices, looking to spend 200-500 on a new graphics card.

    Processor: AMD FX-6100
    Currently 16gigs of ram.
Two Nvidia GTX 560s VIA dual-sli.
    Sabertooth 990fx motherboard.

Personally I would look at upgrading your motherboard/processor before replacing your graphics cards. Dual 560s are still fairly powerful and by upgrading the motherboard and CPU, you will be setting up a good platform for further upgrades. However, many games are still not fully compatible with SLI so you may receive a better price-to-performance increase by upgrading to a single card (depending on the games that you wish to play).

Yeah thats what I thought for graphics card, Was looking at a gtx 680 and a raedon 7970. Would it be that much better to upgrade my motherboard/processor, how much would that be?

From what I remember, which isn't much about the subject, most games cannot utilize the full 6-cores right now. The main focus of a 6-core processor is multi-tasking (possibly advantageous for recording on a separate/dedicated core). Not to mention the performance-per-core is severely underrated on an AMD processor (my older dual-core intel CPU out-performs my quad core AMD processor in CSGO/CSS - both CPU-intensive games[?]).

I don't know if AMD has corrected that problem in more recent years... but there is a reason most gamers choose intel over AMD (if they don't exactly have a budget). You can check out the benching on guru3D who do benchmarks and compares all the different CPUs: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_fx_8150_8120_6100_and_4100_performance_review,6.html

ON THE OTHER HAND: That motherboard you have, is insane. It also looks like the processor you have is an unlocked version - you may want to find someone to help you achieve a stable overclock on it (if you're trying to go cheap)... That may help with your streaming and recording.

Oh... and one more thing. Make sure you're not writing/recording to the same place you're trying to read your game from. That will pretty much guarantee sluggish performance (I found that out the hard way). Have a dedicated SSD/HDD for it - if that's possible for you.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong on any of this. :)

I would certainly attempt an overclock before buying new gear. Get a good cooler for the CPU and set it up so everything is utilizing different cores and you can probably push it close to what you're looking for.

What resolution are you playing at? As that's probably the main thing that will cause you to bottleneck with the CPU.

If you were looking to go hardcore streaming, an Avermedia Live Gamer HD will be good. It takes off the strain from your CPU when capturing the window for streaming. It gives you back the FPS you lost when you are capturing with your CPU.

As stated a few times before, why not overclock before you upgrade. It may help you decide what to prioritize first.

This would be a good idea if you're not planning on running a DVI-out to a 120Hz monitor (the recorder throttles to 60Hz). Just be careful because it seems like a few people are complaining of bug/glitches/defective hardware.

Yeah. I had one before, was working fine as shit man. Like a top-notch card.
But I sold as I didn't need it anymore because I stopped streaming.

    But yeah, back on topic.
If you want to upgrade, go for Motherboard+CPU first. From there you can figure what to upgrade later on. For now your 560 SLI is more than enough to handle big shit.
