Removal of Games of Chance & the Value of Gold

Gold will most likely plummet and then slowly start to rebound, what are your thoughts on this?

inb4 staking is gone.

 

I can't see why gold would go down other than that RWT is probably easier to detect now.

Other than that, this shouldn't do anything to gold. Gambling has been pretty much dead for nearly 2 months now, maybe more. This update hasn't done anything but provide closure.

No gamblers making insane profits means a significant decrease in the supply of gold to the blackmarket. In the long run, price should increase considerably so long as Jagex doesn't render it too difficult to RWT.

Also, items in the game have been decreasing in value considerable while gp has been gaining value. This should also increase the value of gp.

But... We'll see. Price will also depend on whether EOC remains in the crummy near-death state it is currently in.

Good update, hope they apply it to 07 aswell. The only "gambling" in runescape should be staking.

 

Stupid Update, you should be allowed to do whatever you want with your gold. Especially gambling, I mean come on that's ridiculous that they're trying to manipulate Runescape into the 'perfect game'. RWT'ers, Botters, and Gamblers are always going to find a way to get around the rules.

 

Manipulating the game? most of the players wanted this to be a bannable offence, if people want to gamble then they should go to the duel arena.

 

Why can't there be multiple ways of gambling?

Doubt Gold will plummet. It may drop slightly. However it also may increase based on supply/demand. Dicing allowed for quick loss/gain, without that available people may simply purchase the amount of gold they desire now, opposed to initially aiming to get lucky gambling for it. There will be a reduce in circulation and liquidity, less gold will technically be lost. By that I mean most hosts RWT, so that 10/5% commission hosting fee won't be gone from Runescape.
