In regards to Skype Hackings

A lot of sythes high profile members are being targeted, and it's a flaw in Skypes security, why should they all be held responsible for Skypes mistakes. If they don't ask for a PM its their fault anyways.

 

So people can now scam with out getting banned.

Would it ever be possible to install live chat into sythe or a separate sythe owned website that you used your sythe account to log into?

 

It's something that we're looking into. The problem is finding a plug in for our version of VB that doesn't contain security flaws.

 

Could you not use separate website or a chat.sythe.org that linked up to the user database? I don't know if these suggestions are plausible as I have 0 web experience.

 

No because if it's meant to use your sythe info, then it has to use the sythe db, which in return makes the db and all of the users' data at risk.

 

Just an FYI to all, if you purchase skype credits, they'll need your payment details to recover your account rather than the standard email, creation date etc.

 

meh.... this opens up even more possibilities for faggets who like to imposter themselves / others to try and scam..... all the money hungry goofs (like that 100$ donor who was recently banned for impostering himself) will just be scamming every person who hasn't seen the Announcement about needing a sythe PM in order for the trade to be "legitimate". Yes you can say "their fault they didn't read the announcement" .... if that's the case that's a quite poor way of dealing with it, I myself don't really have time to check every thread / post and there's nothing really that directs me to "HEY LOOK HERE THERE'S A ANNOUNCEMENT!!! " (besides the little small topic about Sticky's)

I think myself I will just make a new Skype and keep it completely private since this shit is getting way out of hand and I want nothing to do with hackings / bullshit / drama......

 

Not really. We have ways of finding out if the account's really hacked.
