Why would people who don't develop their own bots be jealous of a bot? (I guess large scale RWTers wouldn't like it's effect on the economy too).
I doubt this mean people would band together and all just lie, but who knows it could have easily been something else that hacked them.
I have no clue if it's clean nor am I arguing either direction but your comment makes no sense and that video alone although the possibly helpful isn't hard enough evidence.

 

This seems rather sketchy, yes. I had my doubts about the bot from the very beginning and after looking back to the powerbot fiasco, I decided to not try it. I made a few of my own script and I must say I couldn't be happier.

 

Well I have no idea, you always have jealous people! But I already saw alot of people who claimed that they were hacked by wbot are powerbot or epicbot users. They say something like this: I used powerpot and epicbot and I never got hacked, now I used wbot and I got hacked within 3 days.

Well there is already more evidence that wbot is safe. And why would the owner of wbot lvl up defence on accounts they hacked? Why would they hack accounts with only 100k? It doesn't make sense.

Also I know you stated that you didn't want to get into any conspiracy theories but, did you notice the lack of activity rsbot is putting out towards 2007? I mean they just put up that poll about a week ago give or take and posted shit on their twitter and got tons of positive feedback. One possibility (and it would go against powerbots reputation from the past) is that this wbot is a way for them to steal peoples shit without messing up their current reputation. And once wbot goes down the drain for obviously being malicious, rsbot is gunna be there to catch us once the majority of the users have fallen pray to wbot. Once powerbot does that they will be able to boost prices because no one will trust other bots, since epicbot isnt even competing in 07.

 

That would make for a great story but it's not remotely true or plausible at all.
The two are completely unrelated and developed (for the most part) by different people.

 

Thanks for the link I will look into this keyscrambler seems like a miracle program. I'm also already running a VM just to be safe. And very true state about there being extremely talented crypters out there. If someone did beat powerbot to the finish line so quickly and flawlessly then I can imagine that they would be more than capable of crypting a keylogger into the .jar somehow. A person could hack a fucking satellite if they wanted to, screwing around with a bunch of kids on runescape should be childs play for an advanced hacker.

 

I suppose you're right I havent gotten all that much into it yet, I only just got my computer restored. But if it were plausible I wouldn't put it past them. But that's why I put the conspiracy theory label on it. By the way thanks for your scripting tutorials for SRL they were really helpful.

 

I have been using Wbot since the first day. Now I'm not endorsing anything but none of my accounts have been hacked/tampered with.

 

I find it really quite sad that some of you believe I'm doing this to give a bad name to wbot, I am in no way associated with any other botting site, other than a normal user.

I made this thread to share my bad experience and to warn you that just because you haven't been hacked yet that it wont happen.

I gain absolutely nothing from this, and I don't have the time to fabricate such stories.

I highly doubt Webjoch would sign on to many accounts using his actual IP. I am aware that the IP is not dutch.

 

This ^, I will continue botting, as imo if you bot you risk your account being banned/(same as it would be to be hacked instead). Corona is just warning us of his experience, atleast we can be more alert now. I dgaf really because im suiciding for money but yeah thanks haha. I've been using it only a week now and everything seems to be fine. Touch wood.

I think he was basically pointing out that the owner is dutch and the ip is from finland, although it makes to difference at all because anyone can use a proxy.

Idk man, I've been using wBot for awhile... I'm worth hacking too and have yet to have any problems. And I am not 100% sure and to lazy to check myself, but I believe the source code to the client is public. Meaning developers and players alike can view this code for anything malicious. I've seen their API and it's pretty extensive. I don't believe the developers of the client would go to such great lengths to hack a few hundred accounts. I also don't see how they'd have the time to do so...

I'm not saying that it's impossible but if they are putting on a show to hack accounts, it's damn fuckin good show... Like Brady Bunch status...

 

I was botting flax on 1 account and yews on another. After about 40 hours of flax, my 1st account got hacked and everything xfered off. However, my second account is still safe. But i recommend removing it because the site isn't even up anymore.

That's because the site is getting ddossed. I will never believe anyone that says wbot hack until I see some proof. Or when I get hacked.

 

I was just hacked, as i was babysitting my wBot the window suddenly closed. So I opened it back up and tried to log in, then of course it was already logged in so I changed my password. But after 30 miins they finally logged back out and I found myself in catherby completely cleaned.
