wBOT - My Experience.

Before you begin to read this thread, I understand that probably the majority of you who have used WBOT will have had no issues, and have never had your banks cleaned. I do ask those of you who have had no issues to just simply read this thread and refrain from automatically flaming me with insults such as "RETARD, U DOWNLOADED A VIRUS! HUEHUEHUE".


At the point, I just want to say that it's really hard for me to bring any concrete evidence to the table, but the objective of this thread is to give the vulnerable players who are looking for a quick-fix to make gold on runescape, or to train stats quickly a little insight into the risks of using wBOT, and probably other bots which I have had no experience with.


I started using wbot around 3 days ago, and when I first viewed the forums, there were a multitude of threads regarding this very subject, claiming that either that the script or the bot had rinsed their account of everything, obviously I ignored these posts and quickly came to the conclusion that they were either idiots who had little experience with software and computers, or they were basically trying to give wBOT a bad name, my mistake.

After 3 days of botting, I became more attentive to the growing amount of threads suggesting that the bot/script had hacked them, so as a precaution, I decided to completely stop botting my main account, which had the majority of the cash, and I changed my password on the runescape website, I DID NOT USE THIS CHARACTER ON THE BOT CLIENT, OR RUN ANY SCRIPTS WITH IT AFTER THIS.

Today, after trading most of my profits from the 5 or 6 bots I was running to the main account, it was hacked, and it ended up in Lumbridge. This leads me to believe that it's the bot client itself which is installing some form of keylogger, due to the fact I havent even used that account on the client previously.

I want to reiterate the fact to anybody reading this who is thinking "lol, idiot, he downloaded something else which gave him a RAT, or a keylogger", I was in your shoes too last week.



This is where my thread becomes a bit speculative and I'll try to avoid the conspiracy theories, but wBOT is a free bot, I truely believe that the owner is basically waiting until you build a large cash pile and just rinsing your accounts, which is a shame because wbot is a very nice bot.

I read somewhere that the creator of wbot has a sketchy history, but I don't know what this entails.

Here is the IP which accessed my account this morning. - I wasn't able to get the ip from the 07 version of the game, but I knew the person would make an attempt to clean the EOC version, which he did, so i grabbed it from there.

This is my warning to all of you wBOT users, I have just taken the precaution of reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling windows.

 

did u enter username and password in the wbot client?

 

I also decided to make a thread on the wbot forums stating that I had been hacked, and I put forward my thoughts, I later received an IP ban from the site, Seriously guys, I suggest you do not use this bot for any reason whatsoever until all these miraculous hacking's have been explained.

There is definitely something going on with WBot. You don't just get hundreds of accusations from people without something happening. Something needs to be done and until something is done I'm going to reformat my computer. =/

 

NO I DID NOT, thanks for asking this question, I DID NOT EVER PUT MY USERNAME OR PASSWORD IN TO ANY SCRIPT.

 

did u have any bank pin? damn i might reformat my pc now. i feel sorry for you man.. this is worse than dieing with 100k in the inventory

 

I don't even think the bot supports having a bank pin, I didn't have a pin, no.

you just have to keep asking yourself the question, "why would they make a bot which has some flawless scripts completely free?"

Damn, I just started using this. :3 only 3 bots though, can you provide any specific bots from repository which you used frequently?
Also any suspicious processes in the background, like how would we know what to look for? Does anyone have some experience which could maybe help us find more information.

 

Posting anything on the wbot forums related to being hacked will either see you being verbally ravaged by users who are yet to be hacked, or a forum mod just suggesting that you're completely ignorant and have never used a computer before.

However, if it would make you "feel" more safe if i told you my scripts, I only used one script, which was uhm, one of the woodcutting scripts, the most popular one, Tcutter or something like that.

However, even if you're not using the same script as me, this is only a false sense of security, I wish you the best of luck dodging the bullet though.

EDIT: I was unable to find any "suspicious processes", I doubt you'll see anything suspicious until you're sat in lumbridge looking like the day you got out of tutorial island, with a piss poor bank.

Lets keep this thread open to others who have lost their things using wBot. I've used it quite a bit so far and have had no problems.

 

I was just hacked. I have not installed anything except for wbot in over 2 months. i was in the middle of babysitting my bot when my account logged out and when i tried to log back in the password was changed. i then went to recover and they had changed my email password as well because it was the same(yes i know bad idea) regardless i recovered it and in the deleted emails i saw where my registered email on rs had been changed

I would like to get a bit more information about the creator, this bot seemed to just come out of nowhere.

 

Hi, sorry to hear this, when my account was hacked, no information was changed, it just looked like a log on, trade, log off job, this bot is the definition of DODGY

 

It's brand new, that in itself is suspicious. I don't care about the reputation of the owners whether it be bad or good.

Been using it in a VM for that reason.

 

Please, what is a VM?

There was lots of suspicion as to how it appeared and was #1 bot to use too, that i read somewhere. Hope this is just an unlucky bunch tho :/ the bots work really nicely..

 

VM is a virtual machine, to be honest, I should have thought of this, but I was just one of these people who read about people being hacked and jump to the wrong conclusion, PLEASE, ANYONE USING THIS BOT, STOP
