Need CnC on my latest signature!

Hello everyone, Just need some CnC on my latest signature, please compare it to the one i'm currently using and tell me which one would be better , also this is my first attempt at light effects (thanks to MoonGlare and MarsFX for letting me ask them a few questions) Please tell me what I can improve as well, it's kind of random but the part I would like people to focus on are the lighting effects, Also, I couldn't be bothered to use a soft eraser and erase the edges so it looks less like a box, so no comments on that please, if I was doing orders for someone I would be "bothered" so here it is, thanks:

Well my initial look at it, the lighting over your A seems off. It looks like you were trying to get an extruding-ray effect (similar to the sun?) which would be a good idea, but also detracts from the rest of the image.

I mean, it's a good idea, but the amount of white used for it (to create the effect) washes out the rest of the colours in your text. Maybe dropping the lighting to a point where it is behind the "A" but still creates the ray effect would be interesting.

On the upside, it's MUCH more detailed than the one you're currently using. It's a significant improvement in work and you seem to have the general idea of how to mesh everything together. The contrast between the red and black reds makes it really pop out and the colours of your S & C are very nice contrasts to it.

That's just my opinion though and I am a very unique and different person than most - and only have my own (limited) graphics experience to back what I say. :embar:

Note: I'm on my netbook right now, so I will look at this when I'm on my desktop again.

 

Like John said, the light on the A is too bright. I personally think that the colors of the text don't blend well with the background.

Very neat. Just background needs to mix with the text. Try changing your hue/saturation.

Its a nice piece, and you're deffinetly getting better. However, I really dislike the mask on top of the text. It doesn't blend in at all and makes the piece look rather bland. Also, try to abstain from having your work clip Keep it neat and tidy. Keep practicing!

 

Sorry, but what actually is a mask lol, I have no idea, also, by clip I assume you mean the box?

 

Well I was assuming you masked a layer over your 3D text in PS but I guess you didn't. Wherever you added the white light over the text take it out because it makes the text look bad.

 

The A seems to be really bright and the overall background doesn't blend in, if you would fix that then it would be better than the current signature you are using
