    Algerba! One question!
    Hi guys I need a hand with a simple algerba question for homework for my niece, I am not great with numbers so an answer and explantion would be great :)

    Problem:

    x/2 +1/3 = 11/4

    What is x:

    May be basic for some however I do not study maths in any my school courses :)

    (i did it kind of in a hurry so my answer may be wrong)

    x/2 = 11/4 - 1/3
    x/2 = 33/12 - 4/12
    x/2 = 29/12
    x = 2(29/12)
    x = 58/12

    x = 29/6, as Heads said :)

    Multiply by 6 to eliminate the fractions leaving you with
    3x+2=66/4
    Subtract 2
    58/4=3x
    Divide by 3
    58/12=x
    Reduce
    29/6=x
