    Umm...

    So my internet has been acting weird since my brother and sister got home (at least I think that's about when it started)...

    I have gone from this: [IMG]

    to this: [IMG]

    and tested again to get this: [IMG]

    Wtf am I supposed to do? :mad:

    I'm normally ~21ms (Speedtest is giving 15-17ms) response times, if not less. I'm not on the "ISP Family-Member approval list BS" meaning I can't contact them about anything. My upload speed looks like it's being throttled to ~5MBPS and download is ~10MBPS (normally 15 & 20-30)

    Note: I've also noticed my CPU throttling to 40% usage randomly as well as 30% RAM usage (out of 16GB seems to be a lot) (not sure why it's doing that either).

    And I just ran Malwarebytes... I was clean. *.*

    Are any of your family members downloading big files (movies, games, etc.) or streaming online video? I find that whenever my brother does that, my ping jumps quite a bit and stays that way until the download is complete.

    Optimum, as much as I loved their service, could be finicky at times.

    I mean hey, at least it's better than comcast.

    if its not an isp/hardware issue;
    110ping seems like dling
    900 seems like uploading.

    Run an isolation test, connect your PC via ethernet, remove all phones and splitters and have your router directly from your phone port. If that fails contact your ISP.

    Well my sister plays Minecraft through VPN (connecting to her school servers) which, while I was watching her, she was lagging.

    I don't think anyone really downloads/uploads anything unless my older brother is connecting from an external client and starting his downloads from there. Unfortunately I can't do anything right now because my computer is doing a disk check (on my D drive... which is 1TB... and almost full...)

    Unfortunately we have 4 people running on our internet at any given time... sometimes 5 people + 3-4 TVs requesting information as well (all on a single cable line in & out).
