    Help is APPRECIATED!

When I open my AMD Catalyst Control Center and get to my monitor settings, I can see that my monitor can go up to 1920x1080, when I right click the screen and click screen resolution all I can see is 1600x900 maximum, and the maximum refresh rate is 75Hz, and I'm at 60.
    Can I change it?
The monitor is SMBX2031 made by samsung.
PS- You should totally help me if you know how to.

If it's not enabling you to change the current resolution it could be that your graphics card drivers are out of date, or that your graphics card simply doesn't support the resolution. If you're not sure press the windows key + R , type in "dxdiag", press then select "display". What OS are you currently running? Windows should automatically have the setting selected in the options menu. Also run a Google check on your monitors specs to see if it indeed runs 1920x1080.

According to the specs on Newegg AND CNet, this monitor only runs at 1600x900 at 60Hz. http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/samsung-syncmaster-bx2031-led/4507-3174_7-34197713.html

The refresh rate you're seeing may be the vertical refresh rate. I have run 2 samsung monitors (the larger size [23.5"?] of that one) and both run at a max of 60Hz, so I don't find that unsurprising.

PS: I switched from Samsung because the shitty stands that came with my monitor were permanent lock-ins that break when you look at the monitor (or sneeze on it).

Look at the last line, like skateman said your monitor only supports 1600x900 @60 herts.

60hertz is the standard in monitors, I recommend getting a "3d monitor" as those can run in 2d mode @ 120hz+, personally mine runs at 144hz and its just amazing to have such smooth and fluid motion not only in games but even minimizing and maximizing windows on the desktop yields a very satisfactory smooth feeling.
