Ban Evasion scam reports?

Sorry to point this out Savitar, but you just made a very apparent point for me to discuss here.

People have been getting banned for "matching skypes" to banned people. I understand the likeliness of them being the same person, but for all you know someone could come on as a newcomer, post that their skype is "blah blah blah" but would prefer to talk on MSN. Then once they have scammed, they get the ban. Now my Skype matches theirs and thus I would get banned as well?

Are there other factors that play into bans or just "if the skype matches, they are banned."? >_<

 

It's unlikely someone is framed that way.

Though, in most evasion cases, either the IP's match or the unbanned user is using proxies all the time.

 

Of course not. Staff won't actually ban just because the Skype matches. Otherwise a load of people would be banned due to people framing them. Staff will also do an additional IP check to see if it's really the same guy.
That's how it is on one of my other forums, and I think Sythe should be similar?

 

Skype matches resolve a ban unless the ips are no way matched at any time. You can use sythes new tool to check up relations between accounts

 

I personally don't use it lol. The captcha is annoying as hell. I prefer to rely on the Google search.

 

Typically if people attempt to frame members, they'll do it offsite, since any mod can just check the IPs on sythe to confirm/deny matches. I've yet to see someone get banned for having a matching skype with a banned user on sythe, and not be that user themselves
