Hello there guys. I'm new to the forums but still wanted to contribute with the building of this section.

CAJUN'S GUIDE TO A PURE​

Before starting I recommend you to check this guide first.

NOTE: When creating a pure you should be prepared to not only train a variety of non-combat skills, but also complete many quests. When starting a pure, it's always best to do all of the quests as soon as you can, because you will want to train with the best gear possible.

I. TRAINING MAGIC

Starting with magic is the best option since it will make everything faster (teleports, higher hits compared to melee or ranging in early phases of the game) the downside if that you will need money. If you do dispose money then I recommend you to start like this.

You should at least get 45 Magic, for teleport to Camelot. You can do this cheaply by following these steps:

TIP: If you do not want hitpoints from Magic, wear full iron armor.

With 45 Magic, you will have enough power to defeat bosses from essential quests.

II. TRAINING ATTACK WITH QUESTS

So you now you have most teleports available and also you can hit constant 13's with Wind Blast.

The next step is to do some essential questing to raise your attack. Melee can be boring at early levels since it is slow. Raising your attack will help you accelerate the process.

V. PRAYER
Well I'm not making a guide on how to get bones and burying them. I will try to give you a better insight of what prayer level you should get.

VI. PERSONAL TIPS

These days, defense is becoming more and more common, as RuneScape continues to add bonuses for players with defence. You will get to a phase when you won't able to kill people on good armor. The way to counter that is high Attack. Combinations like 90 attack and 70 strength, or 80 attack and 80 strength. Strength loses it's importance when you can't hit, and it's important to hit consistently.

Hitting consistently is a defence bonus in itself - if your opponent is eating, he isn't hitting you, which is like hitting 0s.

PKing isn't really about your stats- It is about the bonuses you have, and the way that you PK, the timing of your eating, and things like that.

If you decided to level up Prayer, you should always use your protect item prayer, your strength and your attack prayer, and Smite if you have it.

The most common way of getting defence accidentally is wielding a dragon weapon on Aggressive mode (let's say to train strength) and then switching that weapon to an Abyssal Whip. If you do that, make sure to always put the Abyssal Whip back on Accurate mode, or you will gain defence XP on Controlled. Likewise, check your Dragon Scimitar to ensure that it's on Aggressive mode when PKing. Aggressive mode allows your weapon to hit one more than on Accurate. Never ever attack with spears!

This is sad.

I remember back when I trained, experiments used to be the top secret spot that really nobody but the best pures knew, the ones that had good mains in good standing clans like DI, RSD and Gladz.

Instead now it's just part of some John and Joe's free guide, posted like its nothing.

 

Experiments weren't super secret, they had large trade offs so that's why they weren't mega crowded..........the main one being they weren't super close to a bank so if you weren't mid-high level you WOULD run out of food pretty quickly, even with their low max hit. Secondly, they have 0 loot, so unless you just want raw xp which most people don't, (hell rock crabs at least drop a few things and clue scrolls), experiments were bad.

Nice guide. Just a tip for everyone, in the past when I made a pure, I safespotted the Tzhaar monsters in the Karamja volcano.
Usually started doing this at about 50 ranged with a magic shortbow, but level 61 ranged is when I really started doing some damage.
I think I got about 4 obsidian items from 50-70 ranged, which was awesome for me. Just gotta find an empty world, seeing as Tzhaar city is packed.
