I need help with getting two monitors working on my computer, I know that all the cables are working as it is brand new and there is signs of the computer knowing that the monitor is plugged in. The problem is that the second monitor will not come out of 'Power Saving Mode' and this is happening because it is not picking up signal from my computer that It should be doing something. I have installed the drivers for the monitor It will not get identified through the control panel display options The graphics card that I am using currently is ATI Radeon HD 5400. Any help would be appreciated
Hey Xahek, I would imagine you are running Windows. Is this Windows 7? If so, right click your desktop then left click the "screen resolution" button. It should pull up a page with 2 monitors showing. If it does not, the computer is not detecting the second monitor. While I am rather unfamiliar with the "Catalyst Control Center", I would imagine it will allow you to bring up a displays manager. Make sure that the monitors are detected in there. If they are not, try disconnecting them and connecting them again. Also, make sure one is connected through your DVI port and the other through HDMI/VGA. On a side note, it appears that there is a lot of trouble with Dual-Monitors on that card.
Both of the monitors are being picked up by the computer as it stated the name of the screen's when their properties are shown when I click the "screen resolution" from the desktop.
I'm not sure how I would find out if I'm doing this correctly, all I'm doing is plugging VGA cables in the VGA slots on the back of my computer system
If you have teamviewer you can PM me and I can set it up for you if you'd like, would take all of 10 seconds.
Then both need to be in the video card. That should be the problem. (Trippin answered it). Try that and tell us if it works. If you need to get a DVI -> VGA connector (although one may have come with your card).
The adapter did the trick and everything is working fine now, thank you everyone for all the help you provided! much appreciated!
