    College help

I'm due to enter my first year in college this year. So far, I've been accepted to study Engineering at the University of Tulsa and Penn State University. However, I also applied to Texas A&M University, which is supposed to be the best in the world.

My parents want me to wait and see if I'll get accepted at Texas A&M U, but I really don't care about it, since Penn State and Tulsa are also in the Top 10 universities list. I'm content with going to either of them but my parents think otherwise and they're calling me foolish for not wanting to go to the best of the best.

How can I convince them that I really don't want to go to Texas A&M? All replies are appreciated.

    Thanks!

At the end of the day you really don't need to convince them as you are old enough that they can't stop you anymore.

If you are looking for some justification though, you could go down the route that Texas A&M will not do anything drastically different than Tulsa or Penn State. The lectures will have the same content regardless of where you go in that top 10 universities list.

You are now at that legal age, now it's about you and your future and they are all on the top 10 list i would not worry to much about how much it is going to be making an impact on you. You will get good education no matter what so I would just say go for it.

As much it sounds unecessary, just big up the place you want to go, be biased.

You could include things like accommodation, facilities, employment oppertunities and extra curricular activities to make the other two sound better.

You could always just apply to keep them happy, then it's always there as another option if you need it.

You're not a kid anymore, you can make your own choices. Tell them you're old enough to decide yourself.

Thing is, they're paying the bills lol. Texas is the most expensive of the 3. I haven't even gotten accepted yet so we'll see what happens ;D Maybe I won't be accepted after all and this all will blow over.

    Thanks for posting!

Well, explain you won't be happy at the other one. And that you will be more motivated due to being happy where you are.
