    Question

So, I want to get better in speaking and writing english. How is the best way to get better in english?

One reason why I'm on this forum, is also to get better in english. The most important for me is really to get better in writing, for example essays etc.

    Thanks for your help

    Question

When I was doing french in high school I watched the french news, I picked up most of my pronounciation from that.

Honestly, the best thing is practise. Just practise speaking with people and ask for feedback on where you're going wrong.

    Question

I want to ask the same question as an ESL. As Roary said you need to practice. Practice makes perfect.

As for writing, you can read more and post more and really pay attention to what you have written.

As for speaking, you can join online english learning site. There are a lot of free ones. Chat with people all over the world whenever you got time.

    Question

Well, English is also my second language. I got better by reading lots and lots of novels to build up my vocabulary. When I had an adequate vocabulary, I started conversing in English only and asked people to correct any pronunciation mistakes I might make and any wrong words I might use. It's helped me a lot.

    Question

I'm London - British, and speak/write in very literate English. I got a distinction in my English literature A level, so I could help if you wish. The best way is to interact, make a few Skype buddies and talk to them on a regular basis, practice makes perfect, grab a few English novels too they'll help you out a lot with the English language. I recommend 'Me my grammar and I.'

    Question

Another note, my friend is currently learning mandarin for an educational trip to China. She managed to find an app for her iPhone which teaches pronunciation, spelling, grammar etc. whilst being a game of sorts.

Something like that could be useful, depending on whether you're a visual, active learner or not.
