Could I be hacked?

Hey everyone, I recently found an old thread about searching people's IP matches to see if they are banned on another account before you trade with them. I'm a new member myself however with the 07 sales I've been dealing with has brought 75% of my inquiries from newcomers which makes me very cautious while trading. (Especially since one that I traded with was banned just days after I sold to him.)

Well out of curiosity, I just started searched my IP adress to see who else was using one of the public Internet locations I use. Well when I searched it I found one guy that not only has 1 similar ip match has multiple. Like 7 or 8.

His name is thatguy1234. He's a guru and been apart of Sythe since 2010. I wouldn't think that he would hack me or anything but he's a close match on a bunch of my IP addresses. Could my computer be hacked or something? Like could he of hacked my computer years ago and just so happens to of been using Sythe too. Just kind of wondering why this would be happening and would like a little explanation.

Please note that just because two users have posted from the same IP does not necessarily mean both accounts are owned by one person. Quite often people are posting from public places (universities, coffeeshops, and cellphones) and this may cause two unrelated users to be linked in this table. This search only gives you a rough idea that accounts might be linked, it is by no means definitive.

You guys could simply live in a similar area and be on dynamic IPs and you are ending up with his some of the time.

Pretty much the only surefire way to know if you are hacked is if there have been posts or PM's sent that you did not make, in which case you should request a ban immediately.

 

Nothing to worry about, we all match quite a few members. It simply just means you live near each other etc etc. As the disclaimer says, don't look too far in to them, it's just a simple guideline
