    The War against Bots Continues

    Copy and paste from jagex:
We recently introduced the next phase of our anti-bot technology Botwatch, and it's already showing its teeth in the battle against botting activity in RuneScape. Last night alone, we conducted a mass ban of no less than 20,000 gold farming accounts. This is a huge blow against gold farming, and you should see the difference in game right away. These new anti-bot systems aren’t limited to gold farmers, however - users of 3rd party clients and botting software are also being aggressively targeted by the newly updated Botwatch.

Of course, this is just one victory in the ongoing war against botting. Our zero-tolerance policy stands, and we won't rest while botting and gold-farming exists in your game. It's an ever-evolving race, but with hard work and the support of the community, we'll stay well ahead of the game. We're already working on the next phase of anti-bot tech, which we're looking forward to rolling out over the coming months.

Feedback? Was anyone really effected by this? If so what bot's did you use and how long per day?

you would have seen a lot more posts here on sythe and other botting sites if it was true.

I think they want to make the botters paranoid, thats why they wrote the article.

I guess its hard to see a huge impact on the actual game, the one impact you may notice is changes in the grand exchange, however after looking at it myself nothing major has happened.. (if you wondering about why all the expensive items are crashing its because people are selling them because they are moving to 07, most likely*)

As stated above, you woulda seen a influx of posts here and on powerbot about being banned. I've yet to actually see anyone raging about a bot farm being wiped. Most people running bot farms have a decent ammount of bots and they'd have to have atleast one banned. Yet we don't see any posts around with people raging.

There have got to be over 500 botting accounts from the users of sythe alone that run 24/7 and yet to see a post about being banned.

I've had no hassle with my bot(s) I thinks it's just to reassure the kids who are moaning and make it look like they're doing something when they aren't.

I recieved a ban recently, and I am generally overly cautious while botting. I always interact with my accounts, go to the g.e etc, and I pretty much never get banned. I had 4 accounts killing cockroach soldiers in f2p, and only one got banned

As other people have said... Jagex has pulled this same shtick for years. Real bot breaks and massive action has happened rarely... I think they're making more money off of botters than actual subscribers.
