I want to change my life around. Any advice would be appreciated.

This is probably not the kind of thread you'd expect to see on a website like this, but it's somewhere away from people i know, and a site that I've been around for with years.

I've had a rough past, I was brought up in Birmingham, Chelmsley Wood got involved with people older than me, drugs, and started getting into trouble with the law, then I was only 15 hanging round with people ~21, Got kicked out of 2 Schools and started living with a Junkie who let me stay if I did jobs for him, and no - not the sexual acts.

That's basically how my life was growing up, I'm now 19, known around this area for my reputation, and for my criminal record I cant find work. I'd say these past couple of months after almost dying from an overdose have started to make me think that I want to change my life, I don't want to live this way any more, i want to earn my keep, have a family, and not spend my whole life in prison.

But how can I achieve this? I can't just stop seeing the people I've been hanging round with my whole life, this is my area, they know where i live, i can't just stop. I can't move away, no job, no money to do that, can't think about trying for College/Uni as they don't start till ~September, and by then I'll most likely end up back inside. My parents live in Scotland, i've not contact with them, not for years after they moved away so i can't ask them for help so i'm at a loss on what to do.

I've been looking around for some Jobs i can do on-line, you know - so i can try save some money and move out of this place and start a new life where i havn't got a reputation for being "scum" as you could say. So i'm asking for some help from the Sythe community. I need your advice on what i can do, it's obviously not the best place to ask, but i've been around for years so, here i am, asking.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, if you have any knowledge on Jobs that i could do on-line to make some money, how i would go about from moving from this area and so on, I'm done, I'm fed up with my lifestyle.

Please help my change my life around, and don't take this into a laughing matter and try saying this is a joke, i'm just someone who needs help and has noone to basically turn to.

Why don't you try buying/selling runescape gold? The competition is big for sure but if you really want to work hard for it, you'll get there and become a trusted gold seller. You could also try other runescape services if you have free time such as questing or even botting accounts to sell afterwards.

You can also try applying for a gold reselling shop if they need new workers, the wage isn't high but at this point anything is worth a shot, right?

 

If there was a easy way to earn money online, we would all be doing it.

 

I don't really have money to buy runescape gold to start out with, but then why would people buy runescape gold from me when there's plenty of other people selling it as it is?

I might have a look into the Questing/Botting, i'm pretty sure my computer should be able to handle it so i'll look into that!

Don't suppose you could perhaps link me to a site? or is it just any random gold selling site you mean?

Well a great suggestion would be affiliate marketing through blogs.

 

Have you tried working at McDonalds or any other fast food chains? They might look behind your criminal record and you can work your way up that way maybe? Start part time as you might not like the workload and then once school comes around in September, get back into it.

Do some volunteer work just to keep yourself busy, if you feel you might end up inside. Not only is it a step in the right direction and valued by future employers but it's also very rewarding. Obviously you can't do it forever, but it's a foundation to start on. Find something that interests you or something you're good at and try to get an apprenticeship while attending college - a foot in the door for a career. Maybe construction, mechanics... something labour intensive (as due to your record other sorts of jobs may be harder to compete for, though not impossible). Once you've completed your apprenticeship you have a good chance if being offered a job at the business or at least a solid reference to help you get one elsewhere.

Maybe take up a sport or discipline too, to keep you from your bad habits? I always found being part of a team and having to train and discipline yourself was a good learning experience.

I am a life coach and I help people with these types of problems all the time. First of all, you can have be or do whatever you want in your life. There is no limits. The only limit is in your mind. What we think or feel actually creates our reality, our world around us. If you are thinking "I can't stop hanging out with my old friends" then that will be your reality. However, if you are open to new ideas and new friends, then that's exactly what your life will give you. We are all energetically connected. Whatever you think or believe gets casted out into the universe and then the universe responds by giving you situations which match your belief.

Honestly mate, i sort of know how you feel as that is exactly what my brother was like except he luckly never went as far as to land in prison. We lived in a rough area of Newcastle Upon Tyne and then moved to Liverpool where he got into trouble there before moving back up. He was kicked out when he was 16 (for nearly killing me) and lived away for quite a few years before finally returning home.

Contact your parents and let them know you want to change. They might see sense and let you move up or try to help you financialy. Although you said that you can't move away because of finance, contact your local "Services for Young People" which should be run by Birmingham City Council and tell them your story and that you want to change your life around, but don't feel as if you will be able to in your current area, and see if they can help.

In regards to getting your life back on track, I would advise that just because you have a criminal record, doesn't necessarily mean an employer is going to decline you because of that, I think it's the negative thoughts that are getting to you more than anything, think positive about life in general. Take a step forward, there's no harm in going to every place in your town to try and find work. I'd have money put on it that you WILL find a job if you THINK YOU CAN.
Go ahead and call your parents, what's the harm in that? don't just go out and ask for money.. tell them you want to see them? you say you wanna get outta there and change your lifestyle? tell them that. Do something about, be proactive. YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO.

Get some minimum wage job im sure they'll hire you

If you have that recrd im sure there are places that will hire you, i've heard of stores where they will hire people no matter what and also why not try volunteering at a CHURCH my friend did it and he made like $400 babysitting kids there and its church they have to take you in... im not a chrisitian or anything but im pretty sure if you go they will accept you

You're friends don't want you to stop hanging out with them because they hate to see someone succeed, or get out of that kind of life, because it makes them feel worse about themselves. Whenever they ask you to hang out just say your PO said you couldn't, or that you're getting drug tested and you can't be around that stuff.

Post an ad on craigslist looking for work, there's a lot of jobs that require you to just show up and do work, and then merchant on here in your off-time.

 

The best thing I ever did was stop spending countless hours on the computer, stop getting wasted every second day on whatever I could get my hands on and I got a job. I stopped hanging out with everyone, for months, and months, and found that none of the clowns I considered mates truly were mates. I left the past behind.

Forget the hoodies, trackpants and nike shoes, dress casual and be polite, dont forget to smile and be happy. Dont listen to your mind, just do it. Apply for every job that interests you, dont be affraid to try something new.

Money is everything, it's not how much you earn, it's how much you save. Once you find something you enjoy doing, everything else will come together.
