    Getting into workouts and supplements?

I'm a high school male that very rarely lifts, but is built a bit stockier than most people. I'm about 5 foot 8, and I cut some weight to get to about 155 right now.

The last time I benched I got about 165, and my squat I can't remember...
But now, I'm thinking about making a serious push into making it to the gym and lifting as well as running.

My question is this: What's the best ways to lose abdominal fat? What's the best weights workouts I can do?
and what do you suggest I take supplement wise? Creatine, proteins?... I don't know, I've never done any of that before... You tell me.

    Thanks a ton!

For abdominal just do crunches and cardio workouts, not really much weight lifting to do for abdominal, but for pecs/chest that would be bench press, flat/decline/incline, do em all. Also to better work your pecs, do close grip bench, if you don't know what that is, look it up =p. As for protein, try to find one that is high in carbs and high in protein and low in sugar. You're a short guy so I don't know anything else for your size. Sorry.

First off, doing abdominal exercises will not make you lose belly fat, which many magazines and ads might make you believe.

Exercise and diet is the only way to lose belly fat. I know you've probably heard this numerous times, but it is the only way. A mixture of running as you said, and weight training, plus a healthy and balanced diet will slowly but surely remove most of your belly fat and reveal those abs :p.

Now for supplements, whey protein is all you need. Don't believe any of that bullshit you see on TV and magazines, they don't work! Whey protein is a fast absorbing protein which is absorbed by your body within 30-1 hour after consuming, which is why it's recommended for anyone who does sports and bodybuilding. I recommend "Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard Whey Protein".

You can take creatine, it gives you more energy and a better "pump". Creatine also helps to increase your muscle size by volumization. Volumization is the process of pulling fluid into the muscle cells and thus increasing their volume. Creatine also helps users to gain weight in this manner. However, taking creatine can cause cramps, so much more than 2 liters of water must be consumed per day.

For exercises and workout routines, you should split your week into different body part days. For example, my week consists of:
    -Monday: Chest and Triceps
    -Tuesday: Back and Biceps
    -Wednesday: Rest day
    -Thursday: Shoulders and Traps
    -Friday: Legs
    -Saturday: Rest
    -Sunday: Rest

and abs usually every 2 days

You can find great workout plans on www.bodybuilding.com, also great exercises!

I was like you, not much knowledge about fitness and working out, but after A LOOOOT of research and watching videos, it all started making sense!

Anyways, good luck, if you need help just give me a pm

    Strong advice^.
Basically if you're looking to loose bodyfat you need to work out what your calorie intake is for mantaining your bodyweight. (There is calcs for this on google). Then a good idea is the split you're macronutrients into protein fats and carbs. And eating 500 Calories below your maintaning level. This plus lifting and a little cardio, You'll be there in no time :)
