In all honesty, what happened to you all?

Paying $3 / 10K in a game, which will be worth about $0.03 in about a year or so?

Wow. I'm shocked.

Am I the only one who is shocked by this?

 

Getting a head start on this server is going to be more valuable in the end.

 

Look at the start of Diablo 3. Gold was like $80/mil and people (myself included) spent that without hesitation. I regret it now obviously, but the fact is, people will pay insane amounts to get a head start in new games.

If you look at it this way-

Your paying for a percent of the games gold. Let's say $100 right now will get you .002% of the games gold.
Might seem like a bad deal because its 300k gold.

Now a yr from now you want .002% of the games gold. It costs you $100 but now you get 20m.

Just one way to look at it. Less gold in game - higher prices.

 

Hehe, I don't think an advantage at start could still be worth so much. I'm planning to join the gold market, but I'm delaying it, until the market settles, I don't want to be a part of this tbh

Totally true; However: If you only intend on playing the game and not reselling the gold, etc, you will surely be making a huge loss on buying the gold. Because in 1 year, the amount you invested will be worth aboslutely nothing. In RuneScape and in the black market as well.

Buying currency right after a fresh economy starts? Incredibly silly.

 

I sorta agree with you but i don't think people wanna earn it themselves and its the start of a game so people will be willing to pay very large amounts , Just let them do what they are doing if it makes them happy and their satisfied with paying how much they are whos to stop em

 

The same when new items come out, staff of light was like 20m when it got released and now it's like 1m.

 

And yet to be expected. I only wish I had grabbed this opportunity by its horns. Would have been an easy $400-500.
