Beware of Skype Impersonators!

There have recently been many cases of users getting scammed by impersonators via Skype. This is to show you how to tell the difference between an impersonator and a real person.

When you are talking to someone, to check their skype username, simply right click their name in your contacts, and click on the "View profile" button.

From there, a new, smaller window will pop up, showing you the actual Skype username you are talking to. This picture that I stole from RaSc should help you understand it better.



The difference between Display names and usernames:

• Display names are fully customizable and can be changed at any time(which is why so many people are fooled).
• Usernames can only be made once, and once it's made, there's no way to change it.

So remember, the display name that you see isn't their actual skype name. Please remember to always ask for a PM, a legitimate trader would never not PM you.
