    Account Recovery broken?

New here, not sure if this belongs here. Sorry if it doesn't.

I created a new account, did a few quests, logged out and back in a few times without problems. I logged out and now it says that my password is incorrect when I try to log back in. So I have filled out the change pass with email form about 5 times with the correct email (made especially for it), carefully set a new password each time and entered it exactly into the login screen, and it says even the new ones are incorrect. I've tried on different computers too so I don't think it is a keylogger.

Help? Jagex email service is horrible

Did you tell anyone your password? After logging off, did you accidentally download something malicious/visit a dodgy site?

It seems you've been keylogged/have accepted a javadriveby. Try scan your computer with MalwareBytes, and post back the results.

Nobody, I don't have any IRL friends that play since 2006

    >Not to my knowledge, only went to a reputable site I found on the market forums here

I scanned with Norton and nothing was found. Will malwarebytes do a more thorough search than a paid-for antivirus program? Also, I tried recovering the account from two other computers (all on the same network though).

Maybe something about it being a new account? It's in the highscores so it should be fully activated

Nortons not the worst, but it's far from the best. I'd personally use malwarebytes or kaspersky, they are the best two for detecting from experience.

Do you think that was it? And also doesn't the hacker have to have access to my email to change my password?

    Account Recovery broken?

    Update:
I'm still unable to login to the account after waiting a few days. I don't really want to lose it, considering I have considerable wealth on the account.

    What should I do next?
