Is the i7-3930k worth the extra money when it comes to botting? Can I even use all 6 cores for botting?

It will take you so long to earn your money back from buying a new PC just to bot RS, just upgrade your current PC and get dual monitors and put all your bots on one side to monitor them.

$1000-$1200 shouldn't take very long to make back when it'll be running probably 15 bots on the new build and 8-10 bots on my current pc, account sales will go up by a huge amount as people are going to want accounts.

Sounds like you're putting all your eggs in one basket before its even out. What if the bots are not released for a while, or the game doesn't even take out. I'd just stick to 8 bots on your current PC to start off with and when you know for sure you can then buy another PC.

I don't plan on purchasing the parts until bots are released I'm just planning a build now so I can get peoples opinions on it and make any changes that need to happen so I'm getting to order it.

AMD 8 core processors aren't really 8 cores. AMD is smashed to pieces by Intel at higher price ranges, AMD's main selling point is their graphics at the lower end, when people aren't looking at dedicated graphics cards.

dont plan a build in advance, b1g tip there lol. prices change, parts come out etc etc, better off to plan it when youre within like a week of buying lol.

ot; if you have the money 3930k prolly better(i dont play rs so cant comment too much), 3770k prolly do a bit less but fairly cheaper compared to 2011 build.

i7 is way overkill for botting. No botting program can use the full 6 cores + threads, for botting. Runescape itself doesn't even support multicore CPUs yet.

An i5 is the best processor right now for general use and gaming as well.

15 bots? With what I suggested on your other thread you can be running 100!
I'd say, probably, but go with the i7 3770k for around 600 bucks build like that:

Rocking an i7 3770 with 32GB of RAM you won't face any problem running as much bots as you want :D

Eh, botting doesn't require a dedicated GPU. Intel HD Graphics 4000 is fine!

For botting, your biggest concern should be RAM over cpu.

You can buy how ever much ram it's always the cpu that maxes out first. I'll be going with the 3770k even if the 3930k allowed me to use a few extra bots it's $200 more which probably isn't worth it. I can always upgrade in the future.

i5 and i7 are only pretty much equal on a gaming standpoint.

As far as multitasking and stuff like that the i7 is better, So I would assume it would be better.

If it's only for botting I would DEFINITELY reccomend going with the i7.

From what I understand the i7 is quad core like the i5 but what makes it better is the hyperthreading? But if runescape can't use that hyperthreading technology it's useless?

Yeah, RS isn't programmed to take advantage of multi-cores or threads, so you won't see much difference. In real world use, i7 and i5 are about equal most of the time.

i7 makes the most difference in applications which needs heavy multi tasking and number crunching, like video encoding. In terms of gaming performance, a core i5 is only a couple of fps slower than i7 in most cases.

If you are running bots, it would be better for you to invest in more RAM rather than a faster processor.
