Luring pedophiles (Video)

Basically these two guy's have created a youtube channel where they lure pedophiles into believing they are talking to underage girls online, they then arrange to meet the men and reveal them to the internet. They send convocation and video evidence they collect to the authorities. There is a fair few video's like this on youtube, where news groups working with authorities, and individuals trying to lure these people and get them punished.

Thought's on this idea to catch these people ?

Its like Chris Hansens how to catch a predator, the charges don't hold up in court because it wasn't a real little girl.

Yeah I know these guys. They call themselves the 'nonce hunters'. They're more commonly known for making and putting trolling videos on YouTube where they find someone to annoy the shit out of in a online game on Xbox Live, film their reaction and post it to YouTube.

I'm sort of in between on it, they are doing stuff the police don't have time for but at the same time I'm not really sure its their place to do it.

 

Quite a good thing, in my opinion. There's no way to tell that this will keep this man from trying again in the future but it does give this man a bit of a scare, considering that these young men are turning evidence into the authorities. I know that in America the police do similar activities to catch pedophiles, so I don't see a problem with some ordinary young men doing the same.

 

I appreciate everyone's views so far. But I do have to say that I think it is something of a good idea. Exposing these individuals for such things could potentially stop them from committing an act along these lines, they may not be charged this time round, but surely it gives the authorities an incentive to some what keep an eye on them.

 

I have mixed views on this. They cannot get a conviction out of this but I suppose it does ruin the pedophiles life.

 

Idk about this. I think that some of them may not have done something like this if the opportunity wasn't presented to them. Didn't watch the video but I assume it's borderline entrapment.

 

This guy should burn in hell what a stupid fuck, good for these guys finding cunts like him trying to do stuff with underage kids....hope he goes to jail for the rest of his life.

 

People have a double standard when it comes to pedophiles vs homosexuality. What if the individual has no control over their feelings? By no means am I condoning pedophilia but I think it would be an interesting perspective for many of the ignorant replies on this thread.


It is stupid shit like this that would cause certain pedophiles to be predators (someone who rapes a child) rather than someone finding a *consenting* underage individual.

He lives in my area, scary. People are making too big a deal out of this, it's not as if he was specifically looking for a young girl to kidnap and rape. He was lured in on a fake Facebook account and told me meet an imaginary person, what if the girl was real? Surely that would make her just as bad. Just two idiots with too much time on their hands.

 

Couldn't these people be charged with blackmail, entrapment, and slander?

 

I think these people are doing the right thing, catch as many as these creeps as possible. Sick bastards would even sleep with there own grand-daughters..

 

Unless these people have extensive law experience i don't see how they can end up putting these guys in jail. If the pedo's have a good enough lawyer it would be so easy to get out of, since the these guy's aren't cops.

 

We should have more people trying to lure these disguting fools, shame on them, and I am a 14 year old guy and if a pedofile dared lay a finger on me, for the rest of their lives they would be in wheelchairs.

 

This isn't SFA quality.

 

Regardless of whether it gets a conviction, the person is less likely to continue such activities once they realise that they're not as invincible as they believe. Society as a whole should be the ones who put a stop to this kind of activity, so despite the fact that they have no official power or role like the police do, I support their actions in the naming and shaming of such lowlife members of the community.
