These mini-ranks are more like fun ranks but I do agree it makes this site less professional.

Perhaps the best solution will be to be able to deactivate these "immature" mini-ranks in serious forums like marketplace, help & request etc.

 

They're just for fun. But yea, I admit that they may seem pretentious and odd to new traders/individuals who are new to Sythe. But for the most part, they are harmless. Community orientated individuals, or people that take a few minutes to browse the spam forum will know that.

 

It's just for fun. If you don't like the spam forum then stay the fuck out. It's not like you posted there in the first place, stick to the market. They are just little pictures if you don't go out of your way to know what they mean and don't harm anyone.

I'm tired of people posting about SF stuff acting as though it has a goddamned thing to do with them, you are an inactive market kid. If you don't like it dont look at it. The end. You admittedly just use the site to trade, what goes on in subforums is none of your business.

 

Despite them being "just for fun" I am not a fan of them at all. I was the person who suggested mini-ranks be implemented and I am not fond of what they have been transformed into. My intention for them was to be used to increase participation in events, but my suggestion to create an event participant and other serious mini-ranks just lies idle while heaps of new, idiotic fun ranks are being created and given willy-nilly to whoever the administrators (sythe, n4n0) like in a manner reminiscent to an ex-administrator that pardoned recently.

I'm not a fan of bad-mouthing the site and I know the admins are just having some fun but I just felt it needed to be said.

It has gotten a bit over the top but what the fuck ? Its the SF and the miniranks that mean all of jackshit that usually go away in a matter of a few days. (that said i'd sure love to get rid of uwotm8). I only agree in the sense that minirank whoring has become the new SF trend, but hey its better than SEO threads. It'll do until the next SF trend comes through. OP's just a whiny market kid who ventured into the SF and got his bottom frustrated.

I agree with you to a certain extent. The mini-ranks doesn't bring this site's quality down all that much. It may look unprofessional and stupid but it gotten activity up in the Spam Forum so it was beneficial. It should be used for it's purpose of getting activity up everywhere though and not just the Spam Forum but I think that's being worked on currently.

Also, some people have got to stop being so rude about things and let people voice their opinion.

Yeah this should be an option, sort of like donor ranks. I know it won't prevent it from being seen in different areas of the forum, but I still think it'll do no harm to add this.

 

I agree with the OP. It was cool and I really liked Jack's idea when he suggested it to increase community activity, but now every bad, retarded, or just plain stupid spam forum in-joke/meme has become a minirank. Spam forum things should stay in the spam forum and not pollute the rest of the site, we've always said trolling stays in the spam forum but it is slowly starting to seep out.
