My only gripe with the 2007 servers..

My only real issue with these servers is the fact that you have to log into a pre-existing account to actually make an account on the 2007 servers.

I wish the game was completely separate, and I mean in virtually every aspect. The cross-game friends list is a cool perk, don't get me wrong, but I was looking forward to just totally creating a new account and ONLY logging in with it for the 2007 servers. Hi-scores are separate, so I fail to see why taking another person's name would become a problem.

It's a very miniscule issue, and I'm still going to play on the servers, but I wish that account creation separation was present.

 

If you just make an account and then log into the '07 servers then you pretty much have a separate account as you haven't used it on EoC yet. I don't think the game should be completely separate it would just feel too much like another cheap and poorly coded RSPS, just without the poor coding.

I also disagree with you about the names, it would just be a day of trying to find that uber-rare name for me and selling it just for some money on the opening of the servers. Wouldn't you rather enjoy the old servers on the first day rather than typing and deleting names all day for maybe 10M?

It is a minuscule issue and without a doubt you should still play on the servers , but if you genuinely don't want to log into the EoC just make an account and log out straight away then log into the old servers and it would pretty much be your separate account for the EoC. ^_^

 

They've only done this so they can tell whether you are p2p or not, as there is no f2p version of the 2007 servers.

 

There is a F2P version of the 2007 servers, though. Read the 750K option for the polls.

2007 Servers will come back as a separate entity to the main RuneScape game, with a larger dedicated development team with no extra membership fee and the free portion of the game available to all."

 

As long as you aren't logging in with an email username it won't feel weird.

 

Exactly. But I can't log in with a regular username if I were to create a fresh account for the servers. It'd have to be e-mail. That's what is slightly bothersome.

 

I understand if they made the names transfer over, because all of the name issues.. Zezima on the original server would almost positively would not get Zezima on the 07 server as an example and I think thats a problem.
