What are you studying as a profession?

I've been pondering about what I want to truly do in life. I know possible professions I would like to do but when I look to see the subjects I would need to know in order to become one such as Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, etc, it puts me back as these subjects seem just so hard to understand. Is Calculus really that hard? Is it as hard as people make it seem to be?

I'm at my final year of high school and I'm deciding on which program to go into.

Finally, what are you guys studying to become in life? How is it going so far in terms of difficulty and satisfaction?

Calculus may have a steep learning curve, but once you're over the hump, so to speak, it's easy. The same goes with physics, engineering, etc.

My advice is to do whatever you're interested in. I like dealing with people, so I'm majoring in business management. I enjoy the science side of things as well and am minoring in engineering.

Oh, sorry I didn't see the whole post, so to go more into death (as I sit here munching candy raindrops):

I have always loved music, wholesomely, but didn't see the 'other side' of music, until about 4 years ago (I had just turned 16). I started growing fonder of musical instruments in the months leading up to me turning 16, so, when I turned 16, I asked my mom for a bass guitar.

I had seen this guitar shop one time, that looked like an old beat up house on the corner of a nice area's intersection, it was really odd placement. Anyways, there were guitars hanging from the top of the porch, and set up everywhere on the porch and front yard.

SO we went there, I picked out a Pink 1986 Peavey Bass, and it started. I now play an American Deluxe Jazz Bass (for you Bass-heads reading), among other instruments such as Dulcimer, Drums, Keyboard/Synth, Guitar/12 String guitar, although, I am most proficient in Bass.

I always knew since then, I had to do something with Music, it'd be the only way for me to be happy throughout life. Berklee is the most prestigious Music University in my opinion, so I applied 6 months ago, and they called me last week :)

Well, I currently want to become a veterinarian which i decided around june/july last year, but as I needed, I think it was one week clinical experience as well as phys, calc, bio, and chem Credits to get in I decided to go do year one of Veterinarian Nursing as it would give me everything I needed for Vet science entry.
It's only been the first week and I'm already swamped with assignments, but I'm enjoying it.
If I do decide I don't want to move onto Bachelor of Veterinary Science(which is 5 years), at least I have the option to just go for vet nursing diploma(Which is only 2 years)

I am studying bussines administration as its a carreer related to numbers, which I love. You have to choose something you know you won't get bored of doing as this is what you will possibly work for.

I'm currently at Central Washington University, studying nothing specific at the moment. I am experiencing my first two years and taking a bunch of diverse classes in order to find what really interests me. You have time to decide, no need to rush things.

you're in a pretty difficult period in your life. i went through the "holy shit, i'm nearly an adult, what the fuck am i gonna do with my life" just recently too lol

eventually i want to be working amongst justice/law enforcement. lawyer, cop, forensic scientist, something down that path.

    fallback plan is a teacher.

I'm already a qualified electrician. If I could do anything I wanted.. It would be the same job as Morgan Freeman in most of his films, a forensic psychologist.

Yeah but in reality in most universities it takes two years to complete your GEN ED's requirements to even complete a degree, basically their goal is to have you find a interest in your major by completing these GEN Ed's.

Out of highschool I opted to find a career immediately instead of attending college/university due to the high cost+low chance of entry immediately into a career, and how relatively poor I was. I studied through the American Council on Exercise and train members at a private country club. Physical fitness is something I've always found joy in doing, so naturally the job is pretty awesome, took about 3 months to get certified studying on my own. Pay isn't half bad either, most members don't think much of dropping 400-500$ on 10 training sessions, but it adds up when you have 20-30 clients that renew every 4-5 weeks.

Studying Business Administration, concentrating in Accounting.

As for Calculus-its not as hard as everyone says. In fact, it is like algebra with an added step to it. I find a lot of students are lazy and want to put in minimal effort to get the grades to pass and dont sit down and try to understand the material rather than memorize.

    Just don't be lazy

If you ever do end up taking Calculus, message me - I got an A+ and can offer you some great help and also some good resources to use to help you in your studies.

I'm studying branding. Frankly, I'm still not sure if that's the perfect choice for me; yes, I do find it quite interesting but...

I'm studing to be a diesel mechanic. It isn't going so great currently since money isn't coming to me so easily at the moment to fund my college experince. I do know that once that money is there for me it will be a pretty simple proses for me since I have been born and raised around this kind of stuff.
