OMMs essentially profit from account sales scams.

So my suggestion is to forbid OMMs from MMing account sales.

First off, if I'm not mistaken, there are some MMs that refuse to MM account sales, good, but I wish none would.



Approx 90%* of account sales involving high level accounts, (which make up a large part of overall account sales) are scams wherein the original owner recovers the account at some point in time. Although this is a rough statistic that I made up, ever since I joined sythe I have been on the lookout for a near maxed account to purchase, and have consequently lurked in the account sales thread.
I am fairly certain that most experienced sythe users will agree with me on this point (that a large part of account sales are eventual scams)

There are countless instances of sellers accepting RSGP, and while this may be for legitimate selling purposes( and ease ), Id like to assert that most of them are poorly concealed scams, although most of them still manage to succeed.

While it would be ideal to completely ban the sales of RS accounts, this is a suggestion that has been denied before if I am not mistaken. I wont argue for this here, its futile.

What I would call for, is a suggestion for OMMs to be forbidden from MMing account sales.

I fail to understand why OMMs should concede to MM account sales ( given that most OMMs are experienced and understand that a huge majority of account sales eventually lead to the account being recovered), other than for the immediate monetary gain.



While I do agree with n4n0 that the intelligence of the average sythe user is highly questionable, and it is a pity that so many people get scammed for accounts.

I think it would serve the best interests of sythe, eliminate a large number of scammers( though not as much as banning account sales altogether). If OMMs woudnt OMM account sales, thus, only trades where there is already a large degree of trust would be completed.

Would discourage repeat ban evaders from making 100 accounts trying to sell their maxed accounts repeatedly.


At the very least put an additional disclaimer when you post in selling threads.

No support. Your logic is extremely flawed.

Lets look at it objectively. Following your logic OMM's/MM's shouldnt middleman paypal trades, moneybookers and in some circumstances bank transfers, as all those payments can be reversed.

Back to basics, as Sythe himself said, he won't regulate the market. It's up to account sellers and buyers whether or not they chose to entertain a purchase or sale, knowing the risks.

Sorry, but this suggestion is pointless and completely useless.

 

It is only a middleman's job to ensure the trade is safe at the time of the trade. I did get this sticky created http://www.sythe.org/middleman-forums/1460710-accounts-can-recovered-even-middleman.html to raise awareness that using a middleman is useless but ultimately it is up to the official middlemen how much they want to change and up to the customers if they want to use the official middlemen. No support.
