2007 Server Discussion

I'm excited to see a real pking community come back and enjoy pking once again.

also will be fun to see account builds etc.

I'm curious as to how names will work, will any name be available? Will people be able to mass make names making big money?

 

Nope. You use your current RSN. It's like when you log into RSC, your rsn is the same just your stats are different. Gonna be the same as that.

 

750k votes from members? Does anyone think that's actually possible?

 

It is possible, just highly unlikely. I find it sad how they make the barrier that high - it should be much lower.

 

I personally know 3 players in the top 10 that wanted this update.

There's over 1.5M members, it's not that hard to reach.

 

This will happen, then all these shitty 2006/07 servers will be gone, they're all full of bugs, dupes etc

It sucks. There is A LOT of supporters for a 06-07 server but I doubt there's 750k people out there wanting it.

If it were free people would obviously create multiple accounts and vote numerous times to reach the goal but that's not possible without spending an obscene amount of money.

Unless you can vote whilst on the free 14 day trial they give you?

 

we need to get our word out to these huge asian/chinese gold farming people, and have them vote on ALL the accounts, we could then easily get the votes needed to make it free to play for p2p...if ya get my flow.

There were 1.4M votes for wildly and tree trade, can't see why the numbers shouldn't be as big this time, especially seeing as there will be a lot of returning players. All the private server kids will be hopping on etc.

There seems to be a lot of people being negative about this potential update.

Some people are complaining because they would have to start again. - To them I say it's only fair, if everyone were to carry their stats over no one would get to fully experience 2007scape and half the accounts will have been trained on modern-day incredibly fast xp methods.

Some people feel as if this will affect their EoCscape - If anything it brings in more money from the old players who came back old players and are forced to pay membership and may even try out EoCscape. Plus I doubt they will have all their resources on 2007scape that requires no updates.

Some people are assholes - They can gtfo.

I believe that Wildy/Free trade was a more popular update than this. Everyone felt that the trade limit was restricting but I fear that 2007scape only appeals to people of that era (A large percentage of which have probably moved on with their lives) and a few curious new players.

Mod MMG posted that within the last 2 weeks RuneScape has had 8,229,459 accounts active (I'm guessing 1 log-in in 2 weeks counts as being active though) which does raise my hopes. I do wonder how many of those accounts have a membership?

 

I cant wait!!!. I know what I will be downloading though ... Oh will there be randoms does anyone know?

 

I can't wait for 2007 servers, its the perfect era for me too, it has all the 'old school' aspects about it i enjoyed, no grand exchange, but also has many of the missing aspects from 2006...lunars, avas, range and mage prayers ect

what amazes me most is that theres no squeal or solomons...thats astonishing and wonderful news.

I believe 10 August 07 is the cutoff date, but if theres enough votes some other updates may be considered (im praying for GWD)

 

Yeah the 8m figure surprised me as well, considering there are only 1.5m p2p(and trial?) accounts, and f2p is rather dead.

 

2007 was my era of Runescape - the time I actually enjoyed playing. The community was much better back then and it felt much more social. I'll be tempted to give it another go if they go ahead with this.

 

I joined in last days of 2007 so I cannot say it was my era But I'm sure I'll enjoy this, as I like RS like it was in 2006-7

 

Shes ranked like 20th on High Scores.

 

Tempted to re-start playing again if this update comes and the membership is cheap. I loved pures back then and I even got excited just seeing that old login page from 2007.
