Heyyy

Been interested of starting up my own forums, with an own domain, an own layout with some cool banners and such..

Well, i got no idea where to start, like whats best for just a forum and such?
If somebody wants to give me some pointers or help me out, maybe get into my project feel free to PM me..

 

Buy a VBulletin License to use the same style what Sythe uses, [249 Dollar's lifetime]

Buy a VPS to host it on, normal web hosting isn't enough. [25 Dollar's a month]

Buy a Domain from NameCheap.com / HostGator etc etc [Around 15 Dollars Yearly]

Buy some graphics such as banners and a skin for the forum. [Depends who does it]

Advertise it and sourcing members is pretty hard so pick a topic wisely.

Well, there are free alternative forums you can use such as MyBB if you really want. I prefer VB imo.

 

There are millions of forums out there, you need to do something no one else has if you want to make your forum stand out. Just a little tip.

If you are looking to start a forum, I'd personally make sure that you have a lot of time on your hands. You are going to need to take a long time advertising, and put long hours in. All forums start small, they take a while to grow but in the long run it's worth it. I've always used godaddy for domains, but i've heard hostgator are rather good.
