    Re: New Community Perms Holders

I've noticed recently people gettin new mod perms.

This isn't anything personal to these mods but I think if a mod comes back from resignation, they should have to start from one section again, not 3 including sections they are inactive in.

Also, mods should really get perms based on activity, there are surely mods who are more active in the community than those who recently got them (RsProd/Superman), i have nothing against you, just i have never/rarely seen you post in this sections, so im not sure how you got comm perms?

They get the option since they left on good terms of where they would prefer.

Actually I know Superman had community perms. Maybe they're busy this weekend.

You get the perms if you request them, it's just about who shows interest in those sections. I'd rather people volunteer for the sections that they're interested in as opposed to just being assigned a section based on activity. And yeah, superman was actually community mod for several months before he left

    Hi Heeatz,

Thanks for posting your valid concerns!

If I may address your worry about me returning as a community moderator, I would like to point out that prior to my leave in January I was actually fairly active in the Community as shown by the competitions/tournaments and suggestion threads I have handled.

I'll try my best to help out again in the best way that I can, but if it turns out that I am not contributing to the community, I will gladly give up my permissions :)

    Thanks again!

    Re: New Community Perms Holders

Sectionals can pick a 2nd section to moderate after 2 months of good modscore + good feedback. If they resign then they are given the choice to return to a section of their choosing as they feel they would be better accustomed to that section. It doesn't really matter if a mod is promoted to a section or picks a section they never moderate, provided they can mod it that's all that matters.

Yesyes, but my point is, shouldnt modding include ACTUALLY POSTING in the section? Thats like DS being rs mod when we hates rs.. >.<

Not really. Moderating is when you close threads, delete posts, infract users, move threads, stuff like that. If you mean a mod should actively post in the section and get involved in it (i.e. MoonGlare with GFX section) then that's up to them. They don't have to do that.

Na. If they can can mod x section better than y section, they should pick perms for x instead. I agree its nice to see when a mod gets involved with their section(s), but it doesn't always happen.

Superman is an excellent moderator, and he almost has 10K posts, how can you say he isn't active? This is a ridiculous and pointless rage. Superman deserves every bit of the permissions he currently holds, and I know he'll continue to do the staff proud as he always has.

I don't think he's doubting Superman's capabilities or aiming it at anyone personally. I think what he's trying to say is that returning moderators should start at one section again and work their way up as before.. something to that effect.

I disagree. Following that line of thought a global moderator should post in every single section.

That doesn't even make sense. Globals still do spam/scam reports, they just back off on the posting because they let the sectionals do all of that, so it gives them something to do. Globals are involved in the USL and decisions, so they have a lot more to worry about.

Superman is by far one of Sythes most committed Mod, aswell as capable. Have a look through his posts and threads, compare them to that of past Mods; he's done a boatload and still persists on. Your rant is baseless.
