Seemed like a good idea actually that you could let someone back with a forum ban if they were perm'd for trolling or letting others back with a TWC or be put in the LCU. Why finn?

Govind doesn't really like the pardon system and for him, if a user deserves a pardon it is without conditions, if there are conditions to pardon him then that person doesn't deserve it.

That's what I talked to him, and is true, but well, doesn't hurt to have conditions sometimes.

The main reason advanced was that conditional support indicates a certain lack of trust, and we should only issue pardons to those we trust fully, not those we trust only with caveats attached.

Both systems have their pros and cons, but that's the main reason why; it was only recently changed.

But how does one fully trust someone after being banned for scamming? Not sure how someone can show that while being banned from any trade.

By fully trust I mean fully trust them with full access to sythe.org. Alternatively and more accurately, it means to trust them to return without the use of certain stipulations such as TwC's or Market Bans.

But still, how do you come to such a conclusion? How could you deem someone fit but another not?

I think TWC should be required for any and all scammer pardons honestly.

Not sure what happens in the upper lounge. Probably arguments for and against mixed with peoples feelings etc; there's no objective cut-off if you like.

I see where your coming from, but with this new change, the idea is that if you think someone deserves a TwC in order to come back, then you shouldn't support their pardon. How that is determined, see above.

People change over time. Individuals who can actually show to other people how they can act mature and trade safely should be perhaps allowed back. But most importantly it's people who acknowledged their wrongdoings and try to amend them.

A person can scam then try return, but what have they done in the mean time? Have they shown any level of reform, have they done anything considered to be good? Have the changed?

Off-Topic: Should of read my pardon while it was up, even was acknowledged for a certain section from QG in his. If you wanna have a read I should have a copy on my computer.

Pardons aren't candy that we give out for funsies, they're a yes or no decision given to people that truly deserve it. It's not something given to someone who maybe deserves it... but only if they have TwC too!!!!

You're either trusted enough to come back from a ban, or you're not and you don't deserve to come back from a ban.

I don't know why people offer their sympathy to these users, most of them are requesting pardons for scams. They're people who stole from you, the legitimate users of Sythe.org. Awarding a conditional pardon is like letting a burglar back into your home on the condition that he's not allowed to use the bathrooms. Of course, you can say "why let the burglar back in at all" and do away with pardons, but that's an entirely different debate, and I don't know how I feel about that personally atm.

I still don't get how this is determined. They've been gone, banned, etc... How can you determine a change in character? By their appeal alone? Shaky at best.

Seems like the most successful appeals involved people who evaded, because they proved legitimacy through that.

Sythe is not the only forum on the Internet. Just because you made a foolish mistake once does not mean you'll go around doing it over and over again elsewhere.
